Question about Brother Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

My hl 4070 cdw will not print one-sided. It is fine for duplex printing, but when printing one sided, it prints the first page, then prints extremely faint type on successive pages. I've tried updating the firmware, toner saving on and off, don't know what else to do.

Hello

A faded print is normally the result of one of three conditions: The printer is getting low on toner, the print density is set too low, or Economode printing is turned on. For the last two settings, a printer self-test (typically a separate button on the printer) will show what the current settings are. If Economode is on, and users are complaining about how light the print is, turn it off and/or set the print density higher. If the toner is low, simply removing the cartridge and shaking it to redistribute the toner more evenly can temporarily resolve the problem until you can replace the cartridge.

Take care.

It is not the toner - it prints just fine in 2 sided printing. Same for Economode. By light, I mean you can barely see the print and it does not look like characters. But again, with 2 sided it is just fine.

Well, as I said, I replaced the firmware to no effect. But today I replaced the driver - it worked. Thanks anyway (I'm out $12, but it's worth it).

Brother HL-4070CDW still prints page upside down in duplex.

Check the duplex settings, often you have a choice on long side or short side for duplexing. If short side is chosen then it will print duplex as though you are making a flip chart not a book

How to print both side in hl-2130

Hi there.
The HL-2130 does not have an auto-duplexing system included in the machine. If you wish to duplex print you need to print the first page then feed that page through the Manual Feed system (Side to be printed up, top of page first) and print the second page on the manually fed page.

I want to print on both sides of the paper

The Brother HL-2040 machine does not have and cannot be fitted with a duplexer to print both sides of the page automatically. You can only duplex manually, that is - you turn the page over and put it back in the machine to print on the other side. Some settings will allow to print double sided manually, where the printer prints all the odd numbered pages then instructs the user to place ALL the printed stock back in the paper tray to then print all the even numbered pages.

Can i set the Brother HL-2140 to print double sided. I cannot find it ?

The Brother HL-2140 does not include duplex printing. The only option for double sided printing with this model is to print odd numbered pages, then manually replace the paper into the tray and print the even numbered pages in a second set.

Do pixma Mp610 support duplex printing

The MP610 does support duplex printing.

Duplex Printing
duplex.gif
The duplex printing function allows you to print data on both sides of a sheet of paper.
The procedure for performing duplex printing is as follows:
Performing automatic duplex printing
You can perform the duplex printing without having to turn over the paper.
1. Open the printer driver setup window, check the Duplex Printing check box, and confirm that Automatic is checked.

2. Select Normal-size Printing (or Fit-to-Page Printing, Scaled Printing or Page Layout Printing) from the Page Layout list.
3. When printing a document that has small margins, click Print Area Setup... and set the print area.
When you perform duplex printing, the print area of the document becomes slightly narrower than usual and the document may not fit on one page.

sub.gifTo print without reducing the page:
Select Use normal-size printing.
sub.gifTo reduce the page slightly during printing:
Select Use reduced printing.
4. Specify Staple Side.
The printer analyzes the Orientation and Page Layout settings, and automatically selects the best staple position. Check the Staple Side setting. If you want to change the setting, select another value from the list.
5. If necessary, click Specify Margin... and set the Margin width.
6. Click OK.
Duplex printing will be started.

Performing duplex printing manually
You can perform the duplex printing manually.
1. Check the Duplex Printing check box and uncheck the Automatic check box on the Page Setup tab.

sub.gifIf Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected for Media Type on the Main tab:
When you execute print, the document will be printed front and back alternately for one sheet at a time. Load the paper according to the displayed messages.

Duplex Printer prints one side upside down

If it's the same as the Brother 4070 you go into printer proerties (press properties next to printer selector after sending a document to print).  Choose the advanced tab, on this tab near the top are five buttons with icons on, the second one shows two pages with A and B on, press this to access the duplex and binding options.  In there change from "flip on top edge" to "flip on left edge"
