I only get highbeams, not lowbeams. Daytime running lights work fine. People at Canadian Tire say it is most likely the relays. I lack the technical know how to know what those look like or where to find them in my engine. The car was in an accident about 10- months back (previous owner rear ended another driver) and the right lowbeam went out a few months after that, then the left lowbeam a few months later.

The daytime lights run off the highbeam circuit on reduced voltage. If the lowbeam is not operational, take a look at the plug at the headlight and inspect for looseness. If tight, inspect for a constant ground and a 12v power supply with the headlights turned on low beam at the headlight connector. repair a necessary

low beam not working could be relay or bad contact at stork control. Fog lights should only work with park lights on. not supposed to be on with headlights like in the movies. This is illeagle in australia to have head lighs and fog lights on together as well as being dangerous to other motorists

The dark blue wire is the ground wire for the low beams and your pink is the ground for the high beams.

When you touch that wire to ground the lights should come on. If not there is a short/break in the wire somewhere

Double check your pink wire to confirm that it is supposed to be a ground signal.

If your lowbeam headlights are going out at the same time as your running lights, but the highbeams are working fine, you should check the relay, which is in the fuse block under the hood. The relay is marked "HDM." You can swap it with the relay next to it to eliminate or prove it as a problem. Make sure the key is shut off when you are making the swap.

If you have USA Halogen lights or canadian model with daytime driving lights, check the headlight relay in relay box under hood.

replace the main headlight switch and the connector to that switch, the connector can be obtained from the dealer only in most cases.

First identify if your day running lights (DRL) are working. The DRL and high beams will work on the same relay. If your DRL are working, but not your high beams, you may need to replace your high beam relay which is found in the fuse panel under the hood of the engine at the right back corner; near the firewall, and passenger tire strut mount. If there is also a problem with your DRL with the high beams, its likely the DRL relay which can be found tucked under the dash.

There's usually a cover that says "relays", "fuses", etc. Lift the cover and look underneath, it should label the relays. If not, consult a manual or repair book. Try swapping similar relays from know working accessories if you don't have a new one handy.

perhaps i missed something here... lowbeams and daytime lights are about the same.... be that as it may... the merely obvious thing is that the low beams are burnt out.... next thing would be that the relay for the day time lights could be defective... it's often mounted on the firewall.

Sounds like the bulbs need replacement. The high beams are separate from the low beam/daytime running lights.
