SOURCE: installing brad nails

Pull the clip in the loader slot. Insert staples point side down. Slide loaded loader clip into place till you hear a click. You are now ready to staple! Enjoy, and make sure to staple the dog somewhere funny.

SOURCE: a 1 1/4" brad nail only penetrates 1/2 inch

Hi, There should be a power adjustment on the top of the driving head. Make adjustments there, and the penetration should improve.

SOURCE: brad nail only goes 1/2" into wood. there is no

You might get better penetration if you use your other hand to press the gun down firmly onto the surface before you pull the trigger. (This will help if the gun tends to jump a little when you fire it.) Or, if the surface you are firing into might not be rigid enough (like a thin board that is not supported) - in that case you might improve the penetration by better supporting the surface you are nailing into, perhaps by placing it on the floor. On the other hand, this may simply be a case that the gun is not powerful enough to do what you want it to do. To test that theory, try it into a piece of soft wood (like a 2X4) or find a soft thick material as a first layer over the wood you are using. Perhaps you can use shorter nails - thin brads in wood don't gain much strength beyond 1/2 inch penetration anyway. The length of the brad only needs to be about 1/2 inch longer than the thickness of the first layer of material. I hope this helps, good luck Al K

I just bought a Powershot pro electric staple and nail gun. I loaded the 5/8 in brads it says to and it will not shoot the nails out.

check for a safety device that has to be in position before it operates
it could be an on/off switch in the handle other than the trigger
failing that take it back for warranty or refund

Loading staples

Powershot Pro (Model 8000) Loading staples is pretty much what you would guess,
EXCEPT that releasing the catch takes a very strong pull, or it won't budge at all. Grasp the black plastic catch at the rear of the stapler base, pull very hard (probably 5lbs or more) and the catch will move about 1/4" away from the stapler ("down" if you think of the stapler in its usual orientation.) You can then slide the catch and the spring mechanism "backwards" leaving room to insert staples or brads. (Note, "T-50" staples and brads should fit. If loading brads, they go along the side of the magazine which is closest to the "staples remaining" window.)
