Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with check the water inlet valve which is located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side of the Dishwasher. If the water inlet valve is bad you have to replace it, also check the main water line for clogs/obstructions. If still the issue is not resolved then it’s a bad float switch and needs to be replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

How to receive the best washing machine repair help on FixYa

There are a couple of things that you should include in your washer repair question so you receive the quickest and most accurate answers.

1. Model Number

The model number can be located on the model/serial number tag that is located on the washer.

Make sure you get the full model number from this tag and not the model number from the owners manual.

The model number from the owners manual only includes the first few digits of the full model number because they include that owners manual with many similar models of washers.

With the full model number I'm able to look up factory service manuals, tech sheets, wiring diagrams, factory service pointers and so much more.

2. Detailed description of the problem

At the very least give a brief description of the problem you are having with your washer.

Descriptions like 'My washer don't work' is not very helpful.

Describe what is not working. For example is the washer not filling with water? Maybe the washer is full of water but it will not pump the water out?

The more details you can give the better. Instead of saying 'The washer will not pump the water out' you could go into more detail and say something like...

"My washer filled up with water and started agitating. When I went to take the laundry out of the washer the timer had advance to the end of the cycle, but the washer was still full of water. I advance the timer around to the drain cycle again to try and drain the water out of the washer, but all the washer does is make a humming sound."

Following these couple tips can help you get a faster and more accurate reply to your washer repair question.

Wont fill up with water

Do you get any water coming into the washer?

If water is not entering the washer, check that the incoming water valves are open and water flows through them. (Take off the hoses and put a bucket under the pipes.) Make sure that any filters are not clogged (for example with bits of damaged washer). Make sure that the hoses are not kinked. Next take off the hoses from the washer's fill valve and check if the filters are clogged (not present on all washers). Try replacing the hoses (there are anti-flood hoses that will seal themselves if they sense a leak). If that doesn't help, then the valves probably need to be replaced.

If water is entering the washer, check the filters at the inlet valves for partial blockages. Next check your water flow rate. (If the flow is too low, the washer may shut down. Check your manual for details or add a comment with the model number of your washer.) Next check if the water is being siphoned into the drain. This will occur if the drain hose is not positioned properly in the stand pipe (or sink). If the end of your drain hose is lower than the washer water level, this can happen.

I hope this helps.

My washer stops then beeps and display a flasing H F message. What does that mean?

F/H indicates that either you have no water coming into the washer, or very little water. If you have NO water coming into the wash tub after 30 seconds the error code is displayed.

Check the following:
- Inlet water valve may be clogged. Clean inlet screens if necessary.
- Make sure water taps are on.
- Check inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.

Additional details could be find in this link-answer about this FH code/problem: error_code_H_F

Hope helps.

Error code ld

This error code indicates that drain times are longer than expected.
Click the following to learn more about proper drain systems for BravosTM washers. The example shown is for an impeller washer but is applicable to washers with agitators.

Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?

zjlimited_466.gif

Make sure the drain hose is not kinked or clogged. Straighten the hose for adequate water flow. Remove any blockage from the drain hose, drainpipe or utility sink. Use the U-shaped drain hose form on the drain hose, and secure the drain hose. See the Installation Instructions for details.

zjlimited_1512.jpg

Is the end of the drain hose more than 96" (244 cm) above the floor?
The drainpipe (standpipe) height requirements are: 96" (244 cm) maximum and 39" (99 cm) minimum. Your washer will not be able to adequately pump the water out of the washer if the drainpipe (standpipe) exceeds 96" (244 cm). In this case, the water may flow back into the washer. See the Installation Instructions for details

zjlimited_1513.jpg

To remove the error display, press Power/Cancel or Pause/Cancel once.

zjlimited_467.gif

If Power/Cancel or Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start/Pause.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, and both of the questions above have been checked, call for service.

Hope this helps.

I have a 4000 Series Maytag Frontload Washer that is blinking with a F-20 error code. I am trying to find out what this means.

The F20 code usually means a washer fill problem. It could be low water pressure or no water pressure. Check that your water valves are open on both the hot and cold inlets. Check the hoses for kinks or damage that interrupts the water flow. Check for debris in the inlet filters and clean the filters. Some anti-flood hoses can close their internal valve if the water pressure builds up. This could cause the machine to see no water pressure. What is your water pressure (it should be above 10 psi)? If you have a water well, this could could give low water pressure to the washer and trigger the error.

Replace the hoses if needed. If you have a High Efficiency washer, make sure to use HE detergent. Excess suds could cause the incoming water flow to be judged as low.

See http://maytag.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2887/~/display-shows-f20-or-fh---front-load-washer for details.

I hope this helps.

Have a 11hp power washer pump not sucking water, how do i fix ?

Hey there...

Is the washer a direct drive or belt drive unit? If it is a direct drive ( the pump bolts directly to the engine) then the pump needs to be force fed the water, either by city pressure or a transfer pump. If it is belt driven, the lower rpm's should pull water, so more detail would be needed...

I have a kenmore 70 series model 11023732200. washer fills with water and washes than stops water does not drain.

Here is what I suspect and let me know if I am wrong, I think your lid safety switch has failed. I looked up you machine and it is a direct drive model. The water pump is mounted on the motor. If this washer won't pump or spin then that is where I would look first. They say a picture tells a thousand words. This webpage gives details on how to access the innards of this washer. It is so simple to work on it is ridiculas. http://repair2000.com/wp_clutch.htm
NOTE: The site has to do with the clutch repair but it gives details that relate to accessing that pesky lid switch.516cd00.jpg
