That is a common symptom in projection TVs that use tubes or "color guns" As the set ages the emission in the picture tubes (there are three) begins to slowly fade.

This is unfortunately a normal thing for those older projection sets. A set of tubes will last anywhere from 20,000 to 40,000 hours of operation then they are simply worn out. They can be replaced but I don't recommend it due to the age and technology version of your set. The newer type big screens use a different principle. They either are LCD or Plasma these days. The advantage of the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is they are very low in power consumption. The disadvantage is that you can never get a true black, only close. On the other hand the Plasma TVs are more consumptive of power but will give a very sharp image with true black levels. The choice is up to you but I suggest you replace your older television.

youve most likely got an issue with the CRTs one most likely which cuts out and back in randomly. Try removing the rear cover and look in at the three crts while its doing that and see if you can see one or more keep turning off and on.

How do I clean the inside of the screen?

Don't even try to clean the inside of the screen on the mode indicated here, av 56p575.

If the picture is darker remove rear cover and reach up with a lens cloth and clean the three large lens---they are your light source.

What is your reason to want to clean the inside of the screen, I am able to offer advice there.

I think the green is out. No matter how we play with the settings we cannot get any green to show in the pictures. What can we do to fix it? this is a JVC av 56p575

This is a CRT projection monitor - the image is generated by 3 separate tubes. If the green colour is missing then either the tube has failed or the video circuit to the green tube is faulty.
You must find out which by measuring the voltages on the green tube - if they are ok then you will need a new tube. You could find one here - not at this moment, only a blue one is available now

Hi there,

Please find the link below which will take you to a site called Diplodocs.com where you can download your user manual for free. I have set the link to take you to the correct page for your manual. On the web page you will see a PDF file on the right hand side of the screen, under the PDF file it will read 'Download the complete
user guide (4132 Ko)' If you click on this it will take you to another screen where it will ask you to rate the JVC AV-56P575 where you just click on the stars (rating 1-10) only once you have done this will it allow you to download the PDF (save it to your desktop) once saved you can open the file (If you have a PDF file reader such as Adobe). You will then have the user manual for your tv. I have scanned the file and it is ok but I recommend you virus scan the file also before you open it but I use this site all the time and have never had a problem.

Hope this helps,

Hello, I have no sound on JVC AV-56P575. When

I have had the same problem. It usually happens when changing from a non-HD channel to a HD. It has been doing since the purchase of the TV. Instead of going through the headache of a service call, I have been turning it off, wait a couple of minutes and then turn it back on. The sound returns and the issue will not repeat itself for at least a couple of weeks.
