The ink that is given to you when you buy a new machine is not the same as if you went out and bought ink. The "starter" ink cartridges are not filled completely (that is a marketing gimmick to get you to buy more quickly). When you say "NEW" do you mean "new, never been used", or "new, just got it last week"?
If it's never been used, be sure that you have removed the protective tape from that cartridge. If it's been removed then the cartridge its self could have a problem or the machine could be at fault (not correctly reading the ink). You choices are to return it to where you got it, or buy a yellow cartridge and replace it.
If it was working and stopped after a very short time (a week or two) I would get a new yellow and try it.
For your sake I hope it's the protective tape was forgotten, it happens quite often.
