Question about Dual Electronics CECT P168 Cellular Phone

I am looking at a "unlocked i99+++ & confused about "data package

I am looking into this phone (or maybe the i99) & a service plan. I found a cheap providor but they keep talking that it may need a "data package" which they dont support due to internet needs. They said they can send out a "SIM card" to try but I dont want to buy till I understand all this. This will be my FIRST cell phone so I DO NOT KNOW ANY OF THIS GEEK LANGUAGE!
I have zero idea what she is talking about. I dont need/want internet. Just a phone ( some of the features for this look nice so I like it and the price!!)
What is this "data package"? Do you "need" it to run the phone? Can any service work w/ it? Is ther a way around the "data package" if needed?

Cannot connect to network

If you have a Data package included in your phone plan, you have to go through to your settings. And depending on the type of Android version you have, in this case I think yours is Android 2.2, you go to your "Wireless and Networks", "Mobile Networks" and touch "Data Enabled". If that does not work, your plan does not include a Data package. If you do have a Data package and have just set up the phone, you usually have to wait up to 24 hours for the service to allow you to use data.

Can't connect my N8 with my computer via Bluetooth. Just got a bluetooth dongle today, and installed it in my computer (ASUS A3H) The computer finds the phone, and the phone finds the computer, but...

Dear jonaclau. I tried to find some solutions, but i think that this is my best one. If you connect to the internet through your cell phone as a bluetooth modem it will charge through your cell phone service as a "data call" which unless you have a service plan for doing so charges you insane fees and rates. If you already have a unlimited data plan, which anyone using such services should have, then don't worry about it. It doesn't cost you cell minutes, it costs you data bites which can run much higher on your monthly bill than additional cell minutes do. If you have a data plan with your cell package like I do then congrads, sounds like you can probably get wireless internet access through your cell phone like I do. You'll know if your paying for a data plan because it costs you a noticeable amount extra each month.
Transfering files is easy, ignore the other stuff you got yourself into, set up the trust between the two devices and be sure to password protect the connection. You'll be prompted to initialy set up a password and enter in the same password on both devices.
The rest is so easy it's certain to cause confusion because you'll think it just can't be that easy.
Turn your bluetooth on in your phone if you have an option to turn it on or off, you should.
Turn on the bluetooth in your computer, usually you'll have a bluetooth manager program installed to do so.
Password protect and establish the connection.

No packet data

With your service do you have an internet plan? Data package is basically your internet plan that you pay to your carrier, if you are not paying your carrier to have internet on your phone you wont be able to use the internet on your phone.

How to get web to work on samsung memoir using at & t. Cris

first you must check your phone settings and make sure your data service connection is on.

Also, if you have never used web on your phone you most likely need to contact your service provider and have them activate web service on their end.

At this point i suggest you chose a media net or data service plan.

you may want to chose the unlimited package but can be costly at $30.00 a month.

Once you do these steps you can chose the media net icon or internet browser on your phone and off you go!

have fun it's addicting.

Where can I buy a sim card to use while traveling out of Canada to the United States?

First, you need to make sure your phone is SIM unlocked. After unlocking your phone, you can purchase an Cingular (AT&T) SIM card on eBay. Then call 1-800-331-0500. And set up a Go Phone account.

Go Phone is owned by Cingular (AT&T) in the United States. This is a pre-pay cell phone account that uses the Cingular (AT&T) SIM cards. You will have several options as to how you will be billed depending on the service you require. Pre-pay data is also available too, for an extra fee with the Go Phone plan.

See Go Phone Plans:

AT&T uses the 850/1900MHz band (1900 MHz UMTS band for 3G data) for cell phones in the US. Make sure your phone can use this bands.

If you need to SIM unlock your phone, you can do this two different ways.

The first is to contact your service provider and inform them that you need to have your phone SIM unlocked for international travel. Most providers require your account to be in good standing and that you've been their customer for a certain amount of time. Then, it's free.

The second is to purchase an unlock code. These can usually be found on eBay for as little as $2 US.

To search for the unlock code for your phone, on eBay, type in your phone model and the words 'unlock code' and your current service provider. (Example: Samsung BlackJack i607 Unlock Code Rogers) Once purchased, simply follow the instructions sent to you with the code and unlock your phone - then use the Cingular (AT&T) SIM card with the Go Phone pre-pay plan.

Tip: On some phones you must insert a SIM card NOT used by your current service provider when you enter the unlock code.

When i go to web page on my mobile and connect it it says packet data connection not available how do i get packet data connection

To receive internet service on your mobile phone (called packet data service) you will need a data plan for your phone.

Most cellular providers require that for data service to be available, the customer must request it to be activated on their phone.

If you have already requested data service, contact your service provider and inform them that you are not receiving packet data for your phone.

If you haven't yet requested to have internet service on your phone, you can call your cellular carrier and request that data service be activated on your phone.

Your service provider may have several data plans available for your phone. Take a look at each plan carefully to see what it has to offer.

If you found this information helpful, please give me a big thumbs up when you rate my answer.

Do you have a data plan active? It can be either BIS or BES, but you need a data plan for the internet and wifi to work.

What is data ready in phone status settings

data ready means that your phone is data capable, which means it can browse the internet or be "tethered", which is basically connecting your phone to your computer, to be used as a modem, with speeds anywhere from 56Kbps - 768Kbps....depending on your carrier......this is also not recommended unless you have an "unlimited data" plan, and some carries will STILL charge you for data usage past a certain amount.

it just means you have some sort of data package on your plan, or your phone will SUPPORT a data package. call your fcell provider to make sure, before you go browsing the internet on your phone, because if you dont have any data plan, they will charge you an arm and a leg.

Blackberry 6230 prepaid AT&T

(I work for AT&T and take this question everyday.)
ATT does not have blackberry data plans available in prepaid options. You may have purchased a basic data package, but without the correct data plan codes for blackberry, those basic features are worthless with a bb phone.

You need to have a data plan on your SIM card, or a friend with the same provider with a SIM card you can borrow. The phone REQUIRES a data package to activate. You can however get past the activation, however this is quiet involved. I would google search it if you really want to attempt to get past the problem, but I am warning you, this is tough.
