I can not find the FN key...the TV icon key appears to be F11 ...but there is no key marked "FN" on my keyboard [I have checked 2]

  • baileypau242 Jun 05, 2010

I tried that but still nothing. I do think you know what you are doing though. So walk me through ALL POSSIBLE or LIKELY scenerios as to ..computer settings, settings on the AKAI screen 32" etc. I just put the source on VGA as it was on video, but it still did not work. My research suggest that I should adjust the screen resolution settings first as it may not be able to detect the
AKAI !? And although I have another external sound system set up it seems to indicate [in the connection diagram by the VGA]that the VGA & the audio hook-up is in unison ?! Also I am not absolutely certain that F11 is correct but see no other icon that looks like you described. [Also do you know much about VSEO as I am in a start up phase and in need of a partner/director for a video marketing business and need such expertise] to connect to me ...Name the most popular Irish Cream whiskey [also a popular military comic character in the 60's starting with beetle ..then add paul then put that at ..att.net if so. hope you get this. Thanks Paul

Look at the function keys (F1 to F12) in your computer since there is a shortcut key in it. Look for a key with an icon resembling like a TV and a PC Screen with a slash. It's like TV/Monitor icon.

Now with the PC (laptop?) hooked with the TV, (the tv showing no signal), hold down the FN key and press that function key with the TV/Monitor icon.

Ok, im not sure with your PC configuration but just give it a tr. It won't harm your system anyway.

While your PC is ON without any window running, hold down the "Windows Logo" key and press F11.

If it won't work, try Ctrl key + F11.

Make sure you have no open window while doing this.

We have a panasonic 32"inch lcd tv.we want to

hdmi Ports Qty 3 port(s) PC Interface VGA (HD-15) HDCP Compatible Yes

I read your tv has 3 hdmi ports and a PC input.

if your pc has hdmi out - the you use a hdmi cable from the pc to the tv on one of the hdmi inputs.

if your pc has a 15pin vga cable you can unplug from your PC monitor (or go buy a VGA cable if you want to keep one on the tv and one on your pc monitor - or if you are using a laptop).

when you unplug the computer from the monitor .. check the pins - should look to be about 15 pins in the connector. it that will plug into the tv- then you are using a vga cable. if it will not plug into the tv pc input .. don't force it. It could be a dvi connector . .take the cable off the PC and to radio shack and they can fix you up (you need a dvi to vga cable - not likely, but possible)

I always turn off a pc before disconnecting monitors - and plug into the other display before turning the pc back on.

Good luck.
Bill.

Cannot get a picture on Akai Flat screen monitor...get sound but red light on front will not turn green...all connections verified...remote and standby switches tried..Help

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Im having trouble hooking up my desktop computer up to my Akai LCT3285TA tv? what am i doing wrong? I have both VGA hookups connected and screen says not supported?

The screen indicates 'not support' because the resolution you are try to feed the TV exceed the maximum it can display, you need to set your computer video out put resolution the TV native resolution, which you need to find out by download the user manual here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Akai-LCT3285TA-TVs-manual/id/741bh147/t/2/

Target sells a GE Universal Remote Control, 5 Device with learning feature. Its code for the Akai LCT3285TA is 1139.

Other remotes may use different codes, or have none that will control this TV.

Connecting computer to tv

This answer is pretty late but all u need is an HDMI cable to make the connection. You can also use a projector cable to make the same connection but plugged in a diferrent port at the back or your TV. If your computer doesn't have an HDMI port u can still use the VGA(projector cable) to make the connection

Progressive scan

Approach 1: Try unplugging the DVD player from the wall for an hour, then plug it back in. It may or may not reset to the factory default settings, which might put it back to "interlaced" output.

Approach 2: When a DVD player is switched to progressive scan, it uses outputs different from the coax cable "TV out" and the COMPOSITE outputs (often yellow, white and red RCA jacks. If you have the proper cables, you can connect them to both the DVD player and the TV, then cycle through the AKAI TV's "source" settings to switch the TV to the new cable input location.

For example, if the DVD player has "component" outputs (marked Y, Pb, and Pr) hook up RCA plug cables between those jacks and the AKAI TV's Y, Pb, and Pr jacks. Connect the Y to Y, the Pb to Pb, and the Pr to Pr, of course. The LCT3285TA has two sets of these jacks. Either will do, but note if you use YPbPr1 or YPbPr2. Once this is done, push the source button on the side of the TV (or on the TV's original remote) until it shows YPbPr1 or (...2 if that's what you connected). If the DVD player is on, you should now see the DVD menu or the picture from the DVD. Now you can use the DVD remote to switch back from progressive to interlaced video. The picture may go blank at this step.

Now push the TV's source button again until you see "3" or whatever channel you had been using in the upper left of the TV screen. You should see the DVD output picture (menu) again. Back to normal.

If your DVD player doesn't have YPbPr connections, it may have a HDMI or DVI jack.
The AKAI TV also has a HDMI input, you *could* get and HDMI cable (or DVI to HDMI cable if the DVD player doesn't have HDMI), hook it up, then cycle through the TV's source inputs until you see the HDMI in the upper left... in the manner I've just described.

Final Note: The progressive scan output of your DVD will actually give you a much better picture on your AKAI TV than its interlaced output. To take advantage of that, you'll have to hook up YPbPr or HDMI cables between player and TV and switch sources when you want to watch DVDs instead of TV programs. You may need additional cables to send the stereo audio output from the player to the TV for the progressive source hookup.
