By my calculations you are about 50 lbs over the requirement. Which code are you getting? I'm guessing code 91. Have you removed and cleaned the electrolytic cell from the chlorinator? I get lots of calcium on mine from hard water from the well requiring a cleaning at least once per week. If you get this working and get a warning that you now have too much salt you'll need to drain off water and re-add to get the salt content correct.

### Model CS8111 ... How much salt do i put in an Intex Easy Set Up Pool 15 x 48" for the 1st time?

The ideal salt level is between 2500-3000 ppm (parts per million) for this model - the optimal level is 3000ppm.
For a round pool with your dimensions of 15 feet across and 48" deep, with the water at 80% capacity (it's not filled to the top right?) = 3736 gallons. So the amount of salt you need to add initially to get to 3000ppm is 95 lbs of salt.
When low salt is detected (Code 91) you are supposed to add 20 lbs of salt (what the manual says).
Here is a link to the manual that I found : (see page 133)

### Pump goes into sleep mode because of low salt light. I have added 240 pounds of salt since the light came on and fell that I may be haveing other problems. Would it be normal to have to add that much salt...

No more salt for now!!!!! 1st thing you need to do is check your salt ppm.. must be around 3000ppm.. The 8110 models have issues with their cells that will continue to give you a low salt reading regardless of the salt level.. You must check the cell for calcium build up and clean.. You can soak with vinegar or as others recommend, muriatic acid to clean the cells. Pressure flush to get all the "White Flaky" stuff out.. Dirty cells WILL give you a low salt error on the unit.. If after cleaning the cells you still get this code, you may have a bad cell.. If you are just starting out and the unit is new, YES you will probably add over 300 lbs of salt to get you going and be around 3000ppm on a 14000 gallon pool... Be sure to run your pump only for 24 hrs to properly dissolve the salt and then set your cycle...
Hope this helps...

### My water is cloudy and says low salt. I added 120 lbs and it still beeps low salt. I have a CS8111 saltwater system & filter combo. It is on an above ground pool 24' X 52".

Check the electrolytic cell!!! You will get a low salt alarm if cell has calcium or sodium build up.. If it does, soak, flush and clean with vinegar.. Also, make sure you run the pump only, no chlorinator for 24 hrs to properly disolve the salt you just put in....

### I have done everything the manual says, but my saltwater system will not stop blinking error code 91. The salt level is fine, and the cell is clean. Do I need to replace the cell. My pool is now green and...

Bummer!!! Looks like you checked both things that would cause the code 91 error for "Low Salt". Here's what I've done to solve my low salt "91 code in the past.. I overshoot by 1/2 bag = 20lbs of the recommended salt add quantity when the code appears. Calculate by using this formula..
.0067 X Pool Gallons. I have a 14,000 gallon pool and when I get the 91 code for low salt, I add about 110 lbs of salt. Manual says 93 lbs...let it circulate for 24 hours by running the pump only and then start the chlorination cycle.. Before doing this, you MUST make sure the cell in clean.. If any calcium buildup inside, it can give you a false "Low Salt" alarm.

I hope this helps!!

If this helps, please rate... Thanks

### My pump keeps reading low salt it will run fine for about 2 to 3 hrs then the low salt alarm goes off. I have put in approx 240 lbs of salt I have at 16' x 48" pool. Please help

Your unit is malfunctioning...your pool @ ~5200 gallons, even from a no-salt in the water start-up should only need ~140 lbs. Are you certain it is reading low salt and not high salt or simply salt error? You can try diluting the water to get the salt levels below 3600, otherwise you need the unit serviced or replaced...generally with an intex, if that is what you have, it will mean replaced.

Hello,
First of all green water can arrise from a lot of different situation.
Low chlorine is one of them coupled with the crappy filter that comes with the intex pools it does not filter enough.

any lower than 2700 and you will not generate enough chlorine and any higher than 3500 and you could go cloudy or trigger high salt alarms

you need to get the salt test kit that reads in #'s not color the color ones has to much of a variance
once your salt is at 3000 clean your cell then filter filter filter

I run my filter 24/7 if it is not generating chlorine I am filtering.

Clean your cartridge every few days
I have had the same 2 cartridges for this being my 4th season and have never been green or replaced the filters.
Also I reccomend a non foaming algecide

Just follow directions on bottle

### I just bought a saltwater system for my 12x39 pool a month ago did start up like book said and pool was fine for a month then the low salt light came on so i put 15 lbs of salt in per instructions kids...

you really should get test strips for salt. Get the kind that reads #'s
Get your pool to as close to 3000ppm as you can. any lower than 27000 and you do not generate enough chlorine any higher than 3600 will taste bad and could trigger high salt alarm 3000 is best

run filter only for a few hours before running generator the salt needs enough time to fully distribute through the pool

### My intex saltwater system green light then low salt light

You need to add salt to the water. How much depends on what size pool you have. Your owner's manual will tell you exactly how much to add when the low salt light comes on. On my Intex I would need to add 35 lbs.
