Getting unit ready to store.....should I take the drain plug out of the unit while I run the unit 3 to 4 to dry the inside of the unit

first of all you're talking about the humidifier correct? You should always drain things out if your especially if you're going to store them outside as you don't want them to freeze. Running it for little bit should have running it for little bit should not be necessary as the moisture just collects on the condensing coils and drips into the receptacle below so running it for a while will do nothing but cause them to collect condensation on the coils which then you have to drain back out again.... so in short to store it remove the air filter if it has one and most to wash it was soap and water let it dry empty the condensate tank let it dry put it all back together and store. I hope this helps you.

My portable air conditioner is leaking water from underneath ...I have had it 2yrs...I have never even had to empty it as it has always been dry...This problem has been soaking my apt...I have tried all...

All aircon units condense water, and if it's especially warm moist air in your apartment, the condensed water will overflow from the 'capture tank'. Check for a rubber bung/pipe behind the unit at floor level. Every portble AC unit will have one. Unplug the bung and empty it into a container. Best to do this on a table so that the container can be left on a chair beneath the machine. You may need a bucket.

This is a D945E - when on continous drain, condensation runs out of the drain but also leaks all around the unit

You need to check the position of the drain tray, it could be tilted and fill up before reaching the drain pipe

On cooling the pan fills up in 2 hours. gets hot in the night having to empty it all the time plus no sleep.

I cant help you with the sleep part ... is there a way you can fasten a drain hose to the collection container?

Eventually, you will get the water out of the air in the space you are cooling and the filling of the container will slow down.

The way I see it your options are: (1) keep doing what you are doing (2) get a bigger container (3) find a way to drain the condensate away to a drain or other place where the water can be collected and pumped away.

You could turn the AC off at night ... that way there would be no condensate produced.

Thanks for your question @ FixYa.com

My air conditioner is leaking water

The air conditioner have water runs into the plastic container and when the container is full of water the weight will switch off the whole unit until you empty this container.
The tube that deliever the water into this plastic container blocked up with dirt that stop the water runs into the container and overfill the condenser drain pan that water runs all over the floor. Clean this condenser pan outlet and the connecting tube then you will be ok.

Unit never seems to stop running, always running

There are several things that could cause this issue. If you have a condenser fan underneath the fridg that has stopped running due to poor lubrication, maybe debris blocking the fan blades or a dirty condenser especially if you have pets. You can clean the **** from under the fridg (remove the grill on the front and vacuum out) or if the fan is not running with the compressor as it should repair or replace it the fan motor. Also a worn out door gasket can cause excess run time.

Water leaking underneath when drying, whats the problem

Hello!
If leaks only on drying, then it might be the condensing system, maybe the fittings of the condenser on the drum got loosed. Remove the back panel and inspect after leaks on the left side where the condenser is.
