How do you set the alarm on a hitachi KC-55 digital alarm clock

By Hitachi... I was seriously abused as a child... SU carburetors are bad enough but when HITACH CORPORATION decided to put out their semi-(MAL)functional... (YUK)...
SMOG-SAFE imitation side draft ... carburetors... on the otherwise GLORIOUS (brand-spanking-new) 1973 DATSUN 240Z...

I my humble opinion! (truth is... otherwise awesome innovators).

HOWEVER:
It does not surprise me that I can search the cyber GLOBE...
and find vast quantities of equipment orphaned to a "LEGACY" GROUP... (but still no sign of your - KC-82)

I was TOTALLY unable to find any KC-82... anywhere.

I did find a "docking station" closely numbered...

attributable perhaps to a dirty/damaged identity plate...

Any chance we are talking about a very clever
"DOCKING STATION" (KC320)...??

Might not need a schematic. Check the diodes and fuses in the power.

To set the clock:
1. With the power off, press the TIME button; the time will blink.

2. Press the MINUTE button to set the present minute and the HOUR button to set the present hour.
Make sure to set the correct AM/PM setting.

3 Press the TIME button (or wait approx. 15 seconds) and the time will be set.

To set or reset alarm time:
1. With the power off, press the desired ALARM, Press and hold the desired ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button; the alarm time will blink. The Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 time and settings will appear.
Press the MINUTE button to set the alarm.

2. Press and hold the desired ALARM 1 or ALARM 2button; the alarm time will blink.
Press the MINUTE button to set the alarm minute and the HOUR button to set the alarm hour. Make sure
to set AM/PM setting. Press the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2button again (or wait approx. 15 seconds).

3. Repeatedly press the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button to select alarm off, alarm on, for buzzer, radio or CD.

To set the Time all you have to do is hold memo/c.adj while on standby, the screen will flash 24hr if you press tune it will flash 12hr pick weather you want 12hr or 24hr and then press memo/c.adj to set the hours press tune then hold memo/c.adj to get to the minutes and then press tune to get the minutes set

Hi Ann This is a relatively new product so its not surprising you're struggling to find info online. I'd suggest contacting Hitachi cust services anyway:

Also, go along to Dixons because they do sell this item and just state that you bought one from there but there was no user manual. They can copy one for you there.

If the manual says you can't chance the volume, then you can't change the volume! You might be able to rig something to make it a bit quieter though...

See if you can see where the speaker/sounder is located (there are usually some small holes drilled in the casing to let the sound out, although sometimes there might only be the one.) Try covering some/all of these with a piece of sticky tape. Other than that, there isn't really anything you can do!
