Hi, as long as the 40uf x 440 volts and 5uf x 440 volt capacitor are the same is what you are replacing, yes it will work. Don't replace this 40 uf x 440 volt with a 40 uf x 370 volt cap. Voltage and microfarads must be the same, brand name makes no difference or these numbers, only the uf and voltage. Must be a 40 uf x5 uf, 440 volt dual run cap. It will work if the unit you want to put it on calls for that cap. The comfortair is a 3 ton unit, just be sure it takes a 40x5x440 volt and it will be fine.

What start capacitor is used on the Trane XE1100 air conditioner

There is NO START capacitor on your unit. There is a RUN capacitor and one place said it is a 30 mfd / 5 mfd at 440 volt. These are an oil filled capacitor with both a 5 mfd section for the fan and a 30 mfd forthe compressor. Find a part number on it and search Ebay... that is where I got mine..

My goodman unit wants to start and the contactor is not engaged

Could be the run capacitor is bad. Usually they bulge at the top where the connections are, but sometimes they are bad but appear to be fine physically. You would need a multimeter that reads microfarads to see if yours if good.
Below is a link to the part in question. Yours should be rated at 50/5 mfd, 370 or 440 volts.

I need to know how to wire up a 4 wire motor to two capacitors. Also, i have a 45 MFD 440 VAC and a 5x370 i need to which one is for the compressor and which one is for the fan?

Each motor, compressor have there own capacitor, The 45uf is for the compressor and the 5uf is for the fan motor. If the motor has two brown wires and a black wire, white/or yellow wire the brown wires go to the capacitor and the other two go to the contactor for power. Black to common side of contactor (black)and the other to the red/or yellow side of contactor.

NEED TO REPLACE THE CAPACITOR BUT CANT FIND ANY INFO ON IT. MODEL # 10AJB48A01

All you need to find is the microferad numbers(MFD) On an air cond ,this number ranges from 5-15 mfd for a motor and 15-65 mfd on a compressor . Look on the bottom of the capacitor it may be stamped. Also you will need the VAC which is generally 440 or 370. If you can't find this number always replace the old cap with a 440 vac for safety.

I need a replacement capasitor for Nordyne

The capacitor should have a MFD rating and a VAC rating stamped on it. That is all you need. Example 35+5 mfd. 370 volts. A 440 volt will work on all of them. The other 2 numbers must be the same.

The compressor fan does not spin and sometimes it spins backwards

Your capacitor is definitely the culprit here.
It should be a dual capacitor. Meaning it has 3 terminals on one capacitor. "C" "H" and "F" would be the markings for power in,"C" out to fan "F" and out to compressor "H".
It also has a mfd(microfarad) value on the capacitor as well as a VAC rating of 370 or 440 volts ac. A 440 VAC can be used in place of a 370vac.
The other specs may be something like 40/5 or 35/5 or 40/7.5 etc.
The capacitor replacement should be exact as far as the microfarad rating is concerned.( eg. 40+5).
The money requested through various sites is just that....various. These dual caps may sell around 30-50 dollars for a quality capacitor. If you wish to spend the $118 I will sell you all as many as you would like.

Ac motor hums and wont turn unless assisted manually

sounds like a bad capacitor its a little shiny can that is usually oval or round this gives it a kick start check the mfd rating (probably 3,4,5 mfd) and voltage (370 or 440) and replace the capacitor they are fairly inexspensive
