Wbr-2310 dlink router wired connection issue

Hi there. I just bought a wbr-2310 dlink wireless router.

My network situation: 1 cable modem, hooked up to the dlink router, with 2 wired desktop PCs and a wireless Wii connecting.

I bought the dlink because my previous aging router stopped functioning (and because it was cheap), which I diagnosed by plugging each of the computers into the modem directly. The connection was perfect in that case, but neither computer could connect to anything with the router in between. I tried switching ethernet cables that were between the router and modem as well.
So, that establishes that neither the computer nor modem had any issues, and that the router, which performed admirably to this point, suddenly died.

Now, on to the DLink router.

After installing the dlink, I immediately noticed a huge difference between how it functioned compared to the previous router. For some reason, most basic web page connections will fail unless 2-7 refresh/reloads are done on the page. I can't say the connection drops completely, as I've played online video games without disconnection, but web page viewing has become extremely painful.

Is there anything I can do with this router to fix this extreme intermittent web page resolving issue?

Connect your computer to the router by an ethernet cable. Open Internet explorer or FIREFOX. Type the roiuter's default IP-address (if not known: its either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.0 or 192.168.1.0... keep trying until you're answered and asked for the password to enter the router (either attached on the router, in the manual or try: user: admin password: admin or password: password. Whgen you're in you'll find many checkboxes you could fill oput or notr; Easyway: give your net a name (SSID), then choose the network access security (set it to wpa-psk), choose a password and enable DHCP (then the router does the rest). Disconnect, look if the computer sjhows reception of your netwoirk by displaying its name. then connect. You will be asked for the password you chose. Done.

8. Click on CLONE YOUR PC's MAC ADDRESS button(notice that mac address will change after you click on that button)
9. Click on SAVE settings now and it will count down click on Continue after that
10. Then Try to ACCESS Internet

/... but if still you cannot access Internet try to power cycle the modem and the router.. follow these steps also

1. turn off bothe modem and router (just unplug the power cord)
2. after 1 minute, TURN ON first the modem,
3. after 1 minute again, TURN ON the router

How are cables supposed to hook up in back of router and computer, dlink wbr 2310

You connect an ethernet cable from your modem to the WAN socket on the rear of the router.
Then you connect an ethernet cable from any one of the 4 lan ports to your computers ethernet socket.
If your pc has a wireless adapter, you can disconnect this after you have logged into your router and set the security.

I assme you have a DSL or cable modem from Comcast and this is connected to the wall. The LAN cable from this modem should now be connected to the WAN/Internet port on the DLink wireless router.
To secure your wireless network please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

I HAVE A DLINK WBR-1310 ROUTER WHERE DOES THE BLUW

Hi!

You can use any UTP cables. Here is how the connection would look like:

DSL -> DLINK WAN PORT
DLINK PORT 1(or any other ports) <---> COMPUTER

If the router is set to give out IP addresses automatically(DHCP), you should be able to connect flawlessly.

D-link WBR-2310 Stop working

Sounds like a defective modem/modem failure if, it does not reset or if you take all of the other wires out and just leave the power in and none of the other lights go off then that is definitely a defective mode, I suggest either returning the modem to where you purchased it from or calling D link it should be covered under there warranty for replacement.
