Try cleaning the keyboard by opening it. May be the boad inside it be dusty; otherwise you have to replace it

Try using the other shift key. If that works, then you most likely have a dirty or defective keyboard.
Does the number 2 work? Does your shift key product uppercase letters (does it work with other keys?)
If you are having problems with a flaky keyboard, it's pretty inexpensive to replace it and reduce your stress.

That means the symbol assigned for shift-2 is currently assigned to the top left character, likely the " symbol. Press shift-Fn to toggle between symbols until the @ symbol works.

you can use the caps lock key instade or you can use the ms onscreen key board from accessories then ease of use then chose the ms on screen key board or by the end of the day you can buy a new key board for that :)

To the right of the keyboard is the 'ALT GR' ("alternate graphic") key.
Hold that key down, and press the '@' key.

The @ symbol is on the wrong key it is on " key ,


Hold down the ALT(ernate) GR(aphic) key (to the right of the SPACE BAR).
Hold down the SHIFT key.
Press the '@' key.
Release the '@' key.
Release the SHIFT key.
Release the ALT GR key.

My key board dose not work right can not make the @ symbol with the key right key it make the @ symbol with the number 2 key I need help to fix this proble.


Maybe you haven't press SHIFT key then @ key at the same time.If the problem still occur. Try the alternative way below

press ALT 6 4

to do this hold ALT then press 6 and 4...the number should be press at the numeric keypad and be sure the numlock is press or ON.
