Iphone touchscreen is not working i am not able to open application

-   I have an iPhone 8GB classic acquired December 2007 that has a dead lower strip like many who posted here. I think Apple is playing deaf and blind on this worldwide issue without any intention of solving this.
I am from the Philippines and I have now a very expensive paperweight branded as Apple iPhone!!!
Any help out there will be greatly appreciated!

-   After Installing an application. Im not able to scroll or touch inside the application folder Ex.(Settings). I can scroll and touch in summerboard. I rebooted it several times but it is still the same. Can someone help me please?-   uchie

-   omg plzz help!! my apps arent working i can get into the apps but once i'm in i can move the screen or press any of the buttons!! also wen i press sleep the screen doesn't go black u can still slightly c the screen.-   hoodstarcl1

-   I am able to scroll through the apps, but after opening an app, any app, the touch screen is unresponsive. I can only use the back button or the power button. I have tried rebooting, but no luck. After the 10th restart the phone started working again like normal, but then a few hours later it stopped again. The problem is not hardware, as I'm able to enter my passcode and scroll through my apps with no prob, I simply can't use any of the apps once they are open.-   moonjoon
