Question about Frigidaire Refrigerators
Check out the following :
1. Whenever the ice tray is removed, you need to reposition the cube/crush selector rod that is attached to the bottom of the ice tray. This rod swivels: down position for crushed, up position for cube. At the back of the freezer, there is an opening to which this rod inserts. It houses the solenoid for cube/crushed operation. For cube position, the horizontal plastic piece is slightly above the center of the opening. Slide out the tray until the rod is past the solenoid. Pry the solenoid down as far as it can go. It is spring loaded and will not break. (If it doesn't feel like it is spring loaded, stop here and call a repair tech.) Now swivel the rod on the tray up and slide back in making sure the end of the rod is ABOVE the solenoid. DONE!!! Now you have cube ice
2. The basket is not installed right. the rod that controls the flap is not positioned right inside the solenoid control arm.
3. look at the plastic piece the solenoid was moving . Push the plastic piece up (had to push pretty hard) and it will reset the solenoid to its' start/beginning position(-?) Plastic piece will come back to lower position - will be free to move up and down. The solenoid should be working now (hear the loud clicking and see it pulling the plastic piece up) to get cubed ice, instead of putting it thru the crusher
