Here's a link for the technical manual for your sewing machine. It explains how to attach bobbin to winder and how to remove.

I wound my bobbin on my model 1100, pulled it out, treaded the machine, and cannot stop the bobbin filler from turning. Now the machine does not want to sew. Help.

Sounds like the bobbin winder activator is stuck. As long as the bobbin winder is activated, your machine will not sew since that is a safety function.

You might try flipping the bobbin winder activator back and forth and see if that releases it--or try winding some other bobbins. If it will not release, then you may need to take the machine for service.

If the bobbin winder is worn or defective, you can look at purchasing a stand-alone bobbin winder (called "Sidewinder") available online through Amazon, JoAnn's, etc. for about $30. It saves wear-n-tear on your machine plus allows you to quickly wind multiple bobbins without unthreading the machine. You can get battery operated or one that also has an AC cord.

Why does my bobbin winder stop prematurely?

Define "prematurely". Bobbins shouldn't fill to the edge of the bobbin. Are they wound evenly? Uneven winding can cause the winder to stop early.

Hand wheel won't disengage so that bobbin can be wound

The bobbin winder may need a new bobbin tire. Does the bobbin winder move over like normal?

I have a Freesia 425 - I have wound the bobbin successfully, but the bobbin will not come off the winder - any explanations

The bobbin is probably cracked. They get that way when bobbins are wound in correctly, or to tight. Just break it off and get new bobbins. Just make sure your theading it correctly when winding bobbins.

Bobbin winder shaft won't spin. LCD says bobbin winding.

Mine stopped working too. Gave up and wound bobbins by hand for a while until I broke down and took the machine apart -- an ordeal to figure out. I found that a pliable ring on the winder was completely disintegrated (gummy plastic-like stuff). An online search found this -- a bobbin "tire" which I THINK is the part I need: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bobbin-winder-tire-brother-x55238051.aspx. Hope this helps. --Also cleaned all the lint out when I had the machine opened up. They don't make it EASY!

Cannot wind the bobbin

Check to make sure that the bobbin is locked onto the winder. If is not locked on then nothing will move. I know I had this problem as well and found that the bobbin must be locked on the winder.

Bobbin doesn't fill in bobbin winder

The bobbin winder question is a frequent one and it is very easy to solve. If you look at the shaft where the bobbin sits on the bobbin winder, you will notice that it has a slot in the middle of the shaft, an opening if you will. This is where you use a flat screw driver and open that space more to give more friction to the bobbin so it is not loose on the shaft. That slot was made for that. There are different bobbins on the market so thats why the slot is there. If it is too tight, grab a pair of pliers and close the gap. The metal of the bobbin winder on that shaft is malleable exactly for this reason. No need to put plastic bag material or anything like that. Use it as it was intended for.
