Need to Change Extension and Direct Line Number on Phone

We have the Panasonic KX-T7630 phone system. We hired a new employee who was supposed to go into an office upstairs so everything (extension and direct line phone number) was coded to the upstairs phone, but now he is going to stay in the downstairs office. Can you tell me the way of programming the phone to change the extension? I tried pressing program 1 plus the extension but it didn't work for me.

Sorry not sure what you mean.

I don't want to forward the one phone to the other phone. I need to change the programming in the phone so it thinks it's the other extension and number.

just do it from the pbx physically by changing the sockets. no need of reprogramming the sets.

I would like to change all my extension directory to reflect all new employees.

It's a cumbersome task, best done by the dealer from the Maintenance Console. If you have phone access to Manager's programming, the names reside in program 004. Like a Cell phone, you use the keypad to spell out the names. Full instructions are located in the Operations Manual of a TDA system.

Need to change password on voicemail extension on

If it's a Panasonic brand voice mail, you administer the system from the System Owner's mailbox (999). With that, you can use option 4 or 5 and reset the mailbox password to any and all mailboxes (except 999 :-)

This is how I did it:
1. Press the 'Program' button 2. Then dial ** (star, star) 3. Enter the password (usually 1234) 4. Press 'Next' until you get to 'Ext Name' 5. Press 'Enter' 6. You will need to know the Extension Number of you phone, when you find out enter it (eg: 104 or whatever yours is) 7. Press 'Clear' to get rid of the old name then start entering the new name via the number keys. Note: If you keep cycling through the letter on each number you can get to lowercase or uppercase letters. 8. Press 'Enter' then you are all done... pick and hang up the handset.
