I need an example of code to establish connection via Excel, "screen scrape" a field from my mainframe system, and paste it into Excel..

  • Technician should be familiar with connecting the terminal via cradle, USB and ActiveSync.
  • Technician already has the SyVox Client CAB and a grammar CAB (either the generic one or a site specific one)
Installation Procedure
  1. Set up and save your wireless configuration.
  2. Establish an ActiveSync1) connection between your PC and your terminal.
  3. Copy the SyVox Client and Grammar CAB files to the device in a known directory.
  4. From the device, install the SyVox Speech Client and Grammar CAB files by tapping on them from the directory you installed them in.
  5. If this is your first time running SyVox on this terminal, SyVox will request a License Key. Go to the Menu ? License screen where you will be given a screen with a field for your License Key and your SyVox Serial Number (your device's unique identifier). Contact Genesta with the SyVox Serial Number displayed to receive a 16-character License Key for the top field. Enter it and tap OK.
  6. To perform a simple test of your installation after SyVox finishes loading the speech engine, tap Menu ? Options ? Host Settings.... Choose the File option; then select the demo.xml file provided with installation; and, then the OK selection to accept that demo file. Select the Press to START Listening button near the bottom of the screen to begin the demo. Remember to have your headset nearby as the built in microphone is not sufficent for production environments.
  7. Once you are ready to use this device with a remote host, to connect SyVox to a remote host, tap Menu ? Options ? Host Settings.... Select a Connection Method, enter a Connection Address, and tap OK.
    • A Socket host address is entered in the format *.*.*.*:*, (IP or hostname, colon (:), port (optional; defaults to 3001)).
    • A Web host address host is entered in the format http://*:*/ (http://, IP or hostname, colon (:), port (optional; defaults to 80), rest of address).
Notes

Warm Boot

Sometimes Windows Mobile devices require you perform a warm boot. This can be achieved on this device my holding down the red on/off button for approximately 30 seconds. You will know when the warm boot has completed when a white screen is displayed and the unit restarts the operating system.

Cold Boot

Program installations and settings on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 devices will persist even after a cold boot. To achieve the effects of what a cold boot does on other devices, you must perform a clean boot. Because a clean boot requires interaction between a PC and a terminal in the first place, SyVox is currently not designed to reinstall automatically after a clean boot. Try the help built into Excel and give yourself time to absorb it; Excel has some of the best help in the business. VBA may be more complex than you need to solve a data entry problem. If you're trying to add data input masks in a database, why don't you try Access (the help for which is admittedly weaker because database programming is among the most complex of all productivity apps)? I learned VBA from 3 books I rented from a good public library over the course of a project that was about a month long, (because) at some point Microsoft abandoned the idea of teaching it via help screens. Still, you might join a MS developer site and those are loaded with detailed explanations and many other experts. I hope this helps... I feel your pain.

Procedure how to establish aging of account receivable in excel


Once your data has been input into Excel - I assume you can do this via importing an outstanding debtors deport.

The easiest way I can see is by Pivot Table.

Your data should include open invoices and their respective due dates, it will be easier if you could covert these due dates into months - Create a pivot entering customer, outstanding values as your data and due months as your range.

Can't connect psp component cables to tv


okay. here's what you need to remember as i encountered the same issue and had it resolved.

1. connect the psp tv out component cable to the tv. make sure you have every cable in their correct plug-ins.

2. on your tv remote, press output until your tv displays the correct output data info. it will display component 1 or component 2. make sure this aligned with where you connected your component cable.

3. turn on the on the psp, then press and hold the display button ( it is near the start and select buttons on your psp, with a box like icon. after 5 seconds, it will give you a gray screen with a box icon and an arrow which means you are transferring the data out from the psp to your tv display.

4. enjoy your psp on tv!

Copying data from one sheet to another if two fileds match


Nope, sorry, although I am truly an expert at Excel formulas, I do not understand what you are trying to end up with in the final cell. We can compare a specified field with two spreadsheets - use named ranges and index/match lookup formulas. But then where you really lose me is in reading "a generic field" to find a match, and then placing what "data from another field" into what "other sheet" - ? See the confusion?

Best way to compare 2 given parameters would be to use a nested if formula, with index/match combo. Here is a simple Excel example of how such a formula could be structured:

Sample Data (columnar arangement):
A1: Part B1: Code C1: Price D1: Find Part E1: Find Code
A2: x B2: 11 C2: 5.00 D2: y E2: 12
A3: x B3: 12 C3: 6.00 D3: y E3: 11
A4: y B4: 11 C4: 7.00 D4: x E4: 12
A5: y B5: 12 C5: 8.00 D5: x E5: 11

To retrieve the price for part y with code 12 and return the value to cell F2, type the following formula in cell F2:
=INDEX($C$2:$C$5,MATCH(D2,IF($B$2:$B$5=E2,$A$2:$A$5),0))

Press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to enter the formula as an array formula. The formula returns the value 8.00.

To take this one step further, with range names, this example will find one value at a specified location which matches a specific row header value and column header value. Let's say the range is home values (Range=HomeVal), Column A of HomeVal contains street addresses,"row headers" (Range=StAddress), and Row 1 contains dates of the various values that are in the body of the table, "column headers" (Range=Dates). To return the specific value from the range HomeVal to another sheet, where A1=address specified and A2=date specified:
=INDEX(HomeVal,(MATCH($A$1,StAddress,0)),(MATCH($A$2,Dates,0)))

Then make sure to press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to enter the formula as an array formula - if you only hit enter, these types of formulas will not work properly.

Breaking a field's title on a report into two line is done in the form design screen. Data table view does not support you need.

Hi, Pivot tables are quite complex but basically you have a table of data which you sort based on different fields from your table.

When i first figured out how to pull data from SQL and put the results in an excel file i referenced these two articles....
