Question about Frigidaire FTF530FS Front Load Washer

1 Answer

I have a fridgaire ftf530fs1 washing machine, which has been acting up and now it won't even turn on. The problem is similar to some of these posts such as stopping in mid cycle for long periods of time. There wasn't any loud noise's when it was operating it just stop working all of a sudden. The problem not is that it won't do anything, I put ot a wash cycle, close the door the door lock comes on, which indicates that the door is locked and after 5 minutes of waiting still nothing and i can open the door. Any help would be appreciated

This is usually caused by the door switch. These are fairly inexpensive and very easy to replace. First unplug your machine. To check you will need to remove the wire ring that holds the front door seal to the front panel. To do this go to the six o’clock position and you will see the spring of the wire clamp, grab this with a pair of needle nose pliers. Grab it right where it connects to the wire part of the clamp and pull it parallel to the front panel. This will stretch the spring so it can be pulled over the flange. Next carefully peal the door seal off of the flange. You do this with a sort of rolling motion towards the opening in the door. Next remove the screws that hold the door switch in place. Make sure you have one hand supporting the switch assembly while removing the screws. Now pull the whole assembly out the opening. Mark wires if you need to and then remove the wires. Now connect your ohmmeter to the 2 wire on the bottom you should have a reading of 1500 ohms no less than 1400ohms. If it is below the 1400 or more than 1700 replace the switch. To reassemble reverse the order of disassembly. Making sure the little arrow on the door seal lines uo with the mark on the front panel. The spring can be a little trick to get back on but grab in same position as removal and use the other hand to push it over and around the seal. Here is a tutorial to walk you thru http://appliancehelponline.com/washerdoorswitch.html . If it is within this range the main control board is at fault. Not inexpensive. You can enter your model # at www.appliancehelponline.com to view diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available.

Ftf530fs1 not filliing not spinning

Hello rickclancyar - Is the washer make a humming noise? If so either the drainage hose or pump is clogged and needs to be clean. If not, then the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with the control board, wiring failure, faulty pump, timer, or door lock assembly. Consult a professional for an accurate diagnosis and to assist with the repairs.

I have a kenmore top load high efficiency washer. When i press start it acts like its going to start then it unlocks and won't wash.

My problem is similar to one posted top. My HE Kenmore washer stopped in the middle of the cycle. I repaired the latch lock, thinking that would solve my problem, but now it will start the cycle, and stall at the rinse setting. I have to physically set it to rinse and spin, and sometimes that doesn't even work. Washer will be two years old this August. I have NEVER had a problem with a Sears washer, and I am VERY disappointed in this one. My last two gave me twenty years of service without a repair. Maybe Sears needs to go back to making theirs in the USA.

Maytag maxima door locked

Similar problem here - pump was set for a 58 minute normal cycle, I look in and see it is now showing 67. Hmm. Attempt to shut it off because it is just sitting there pumping and pumping. Power shuts off but pump keeps running and add garment light flashing red. Cannot open door (to add garment or not) Unplug the unit and the door will not open. Anybody got a clue what's up? I have a wash in, service is closed due to a storm today. Just bugs me that it is 6 months old and seems to act up a fair bit electronically.

Fridgaire washer is leaking water about 1/2 gallon of water

If you take off the front panel in the VERY back you will see a hose, that hose has seemed to have come disconnected, there is a valve back there that is just slips onto. This will stop your water leak
