SOURCE: Is there a cash register that will download

This site has a cash register that can do that:

http://www.cashregisterstore.com/

The Casio TE-2200
and the Casio TE-2400

You save backups and then can be loaded into Excel, this is the closest I have been able to find.

I have a alpha 9500ml cash register.Recently I bought a Royal scanner(model:PS700-USB),but the register doesn't respond with it.Now even I switch back to my old scnner, doesn't respond either. Why?

There are many settings for scanners. You must program the register settings AND the scanner. You need the big book of setting bar codes for the scanner to change any settings in the scanner. You usually need a special cable to convert scanner to register pinout. It can be a days work even for a technician. They are the probably the trickiest thing to get working on registers so it might be best to get a dealer to do it if you don't have all of the setup information for connecting that register with that scanner.

Scanner trouble

It sounds like you have lost the port settings. Most registers have to have the scanner port (socket) set in programming so the register knows which device you are using. I haven't worked with this model but if you need a manual, one of the users has a Royal 9155SC manual here:

Casio TE 2200 we are trying to input barcodes using the scanner. The Scanner beeps indicating it is reading, but the cash register does not show any acknowledgement that anything has transpired. There...

There is nothing simple about bar code systems unfortunately. Has this scanner been working with that cash register previously? Have you had a training session with the dealer when you bought it? The dealer should have set the system programming in the register and the scanner should have been set for the correct interface parameters. The Cash register settings can be found only in the dealer manual. If you want to check them yourself, the manual is here: http://the-checkout-tech.com/manuals/cashregisters/Casio_TE-2200_and_TE-2400_dealers_manual.html

I have a royal alpha 9500 ml cash register and also a royal PS700-USB hand held barcode scanner. Everything worked great yesterday getting my barcodes in the cash and stuff, but I unplug it by accident...

the scanner comes with a programming card, just scan the barcode to start programming, then scan the barcode that says usb and then scan the barcode that says end programming, and it will start working again

My samsung till won't talk to my lap top

Windows Vista is the last operating system that you would want to use for legacy hardware -legacy being anything that requires a usb to rs 232c adaptor. Scripts required to make this work would drive you to an abacus. If you need to have a cash register input on a permanent basis I would recommend another operating system, even a real old computer would be easier to interface or you could use the modem output of the Samsung to connect to your laptop in a LAN configuration maybe even with a null modem connection. Vista will drive you crazy with permission denials with cries of cyber-sodomy with an analog interface directly connected. The Samsung 755 has a USB interface but since you don't have the correct input for your laptop it will be far easier to use the cash register an an old (cheap) computer with an RS 232 interface and connect it to your laptop with a wired or wireless LAN configuration. Those USB to DB9 0r DB25 or PS2 adaptors still cannot match the speed parameters that the laptop US Host controller would ever find acceptable. Windows XP or 2000 might be a consideration but Vista is already neurotic enough without interfaces it was not designed to accomodate. I hope this will save you from alot of frustration. respectfully, Steve Medley
