Question about Computers & Internet

Hello, I have a LG flatron w2234s and a week ago the screen started to shut down on its own while i'm using the computer or when it goes to sleep mode. The screen gives me the LG sign and just turns off and I have to unplug and replug everytime and really put a lot of pressure for the screen to come back on...what's happening? Is it my PC or the screen itself? I tried changing the configurations of the pc and nothing works!

First try it on another Pc, you'll know the root of the problem. If there's no problem on another pc then the problem would be with your video card/motherboard. If the problem is still the same on another Pc, then your monitor has internal problem. You better call up a technician, he/she will check it for you, must be Pcb problem. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

My LG Flatron W2234S keeps restarting. It shows LG logo, displays the normal image, after few seconds the buttons stop responding, and then it restarts (all this takes 15 seconds). It seems to stop doing this if I disable DFC (Digital fine contrast) from the service menu. With your computer turned on, and monitor off, press menu + power button; after monitor starts, press menu again, click set to go down until you are on DFC then click up or down. Press menu again to exit. This works fine until you turn off the monitor, change resolution, enter sleep mode, etc. Just do this steps again when problem comes back.

Hi,
The problem is the VGA part of the moniter is playing up. Two areas, one the MCU on the vga card, the other is a faulty transistor on the vga card. Repairs on a PCB VGA circuit are impossible with out the right tools.
The part number you require are Manufacturer Part Number EBU59489401
Board Numbers 791501300700R
For a replacement card
if no warrenty
One of mine w2234s would switch off and then back on after 10mins of use if any function of the VGA was used, ie power save , screen resizing, but would work for hours without error otherwise. it was the VGA card

On and off cycleing could be caused by a bad power supply or a low battery on your remote. Check them both out. Good luck.

You can take it apart and inspect for bulging capacitors - the tops should be perfectly flat. Even a slight bulge at the top is an indication that the capacitor is bad.

Lg w2234s no signal?

shut down the computer completely by pressing on the power button until no sound is heard. Then make sure that the screen is properly connected to the computer and turn on the computer. If this doesn't help, disconnect the cable that connects the screen with the computer, see that the connection looks fine (no broken pins) and then connect again to the computer.

No picture lg flatron w2234s blinking blue light

Hi My screen developed exactly the same problem. It appears to be a hardwear problem associated with the screen it's self. continuity test is ok on the lead so I took it back to the shop under warranty and hey presto, the replacement works. I don't know what the problem is but there are a number of other folks on another thread with the same problem and their entries are dated May 09 too.  Dave
