Would like to use in time lapse.

I'm using the web camera to monitor a medical product while under test. I would like use time lapse where a photo is taken once every 30 seconds.

How can I do this? Is there a software patch I can install or an alturnative software package I can use?

An My Canon EOS40D does not respond after taking 100 consecutive photos while taking a time lapse photo. I am using an Alpine Pulse intervalometer.

Have a look in the manual - some cameras have this as a 'fail-safe' in case people forget and leave them unattended. There may be a way to disable this 'function' in the menu system.
Just looking at an answer to another similar query for this model, you may also need to disable 'automatic shutdown'.

What is time lapse imaging?

The embryo-scope ( Time Lapse Imaging) is an incubator with a built in microscope and camera that observes the embryos and takes pictures for each embryo every 10-20 minutes (Time Lapse Imaging). By reviewing these pictures and the video recording we can closely monitor the progress of the embryos to select the best ones to be replaced. You can get more information about Time Lapse Imaging by clicking on : Fertility Test London.

How do l find my photos

Hi David if it's a dslr camera the photos can be found by firstly pressing the button with a triangle inside a square box then the left button inside the wheel dial.if you photograph astro shots like myself this wheel is great fun as it can be used as a time lapse function as star pictures have little movement so turning the dial left or right this gives you a terrific effect.it will give you a good idea of how time lapse photography looks too.Great on the screen!Let me know how you get on David please .thanks.maxine

How do I take time laps photos

This comes down to a couple basic things: careful planned and execution of your plan.

  1. Figure out what you what you photo and what the best way to capture the event will be. You're going to want to use a tripod to keep the camera in the same position for the duration of the event.
  2. Figure out how often you need the camera to take a photo. If the event is short like 1 minute, you're going to want to take more photos more frequently than if the event is one hour long.
  3. Position the camera and start taking photos. There is no magic "time lapse" setting on cameras so you're going to have to stick around and press the shutter based on the schedule you worked out.
  4. Grab your favorite movie editing program and edit them all together. Play around with how long you show each photo to control the speed of the time lapse effect.
  5. Export and enjoy!

A simple way to take continuous pictures on Canon 350 EOS camera.

Depends on what you mean by continuous pictures. If you mean that you want to take pictures as fast as possible as long as the shutter button is held down, you just need to change the "drive" mode of your camera to continuous. The rebel can shoot at ~3 images per second.

If you mean that you want to take time lapse pictures, i.e. set the camera on a tripod and take one picture every 30 seconds, you'll need a timer. Canon makes a device that does this called the TC80N3, but it doesn't work with the Rebel. Someone has created a modified version of the TC80N3 that works with the rebel at:

http://rebeltimelapse.com/

Also I found this one on google:

http://www.universaltimer.com/home.html

I haven't personally used either of those products, but you will need something like it to take time lapse photos.

TIME LAPSE function

The TIME LAPSE function makes it possible to shoot a sequence of pictures (such as a flower opening) automatically under pre-set conditions. Open the MODE MENU under the CAMERA tab. Use the arrow pad to toggle up to TIME LAPSE and select ON. On this screen you can select the number of shot (2 to 99) and the time interval between each shot (1 min. to 60 min. in 1 min. increments. Press the OK button and the shooting sequence will begin. It is advised to use the AC Adapter C-7AU for longer sequences. This function is not available in the AUTO or MOVIE Modes.
