Question about KitchenAid KAWS850L Top Load Washer

The rear bottom part of the hood will not attach to the frame.

I have a top loader kitchenaid washing machine. I am having difficulty reinstalling the hood back in place. The rear bottom of the hood will not connect or hold in place to the frame of the washer. Does it require clips?

Hi there. It sounds like you need to be pushing the lower sides in towards the machine so that the side can lock onto the bottom frame.then there should be 2 brass coloured metal clips that clip into the top of the cabinet to lock it all in place..The rear bottom locks onto tiny lugs on the frame.

The rear bottom of the hood needs to be pushed in toward the machine as it locks onto lugs of the frame.& then there should be 2 metal clips that lock the top of the hood to the frame.

No clips sits on a tab on each side in the back. Try this video or the photo link.

How do you replace the front panel on a Maytag top loader washing machine?

If these are the clips i'm thinking of set the panel in place then grab the bottom of panel and stand up so that the panel is parallel to the floor. Apply pressure as you lower the bottom back down. The clips should slip into the slots, but sometimes it takes a couple of tries. When it's good you will know then replace bottom screws.

If this doesn't seem right give me the model number (the one on the machine) and we'll figure out what is right.

How do I remove the console on my Kitchenaid Top load washer

remove the 2 Phillips head screws that are in the left and right end caps of the console, in the front corners. remove nothing from the rear of the cabinet!! after removing those 2 Phillips head screws slide the bottom of the console forward about 1/2 inch the lift up and it will pivot right up and over on the hinges that are attached in the upper corners of the console..
good luck and have fun.

I manage a Moving Company and was wondering if all front loading washing machines require shipping bolts to be installed prior to shipping, or just certain brands?

Hi just read your posting. In my experience with front loaders they all have transit bolts .The reason being is that the internal bowl and tank are separated from the outside frame by suspension rods and, or springs. The easiest way to tell on most front loaders is to look for the holes in the back of the frame of the machine where the bolts attach the frame to the tank .Hope this helps and good luck.

Please advise where the filter is located on our Speed Quen top loader washing machine, and procedure to clean filter-thanks

Usually there is no filter to clean on the top loaders. It should be a self cleaning filter attached to the bottom of your spin basket, (what the clothes actually go into).

How do I take off the front panel of washer

If it's a front loader, then there should be a kick-plate on the bottom with 3 hex screws on the very bottom of the plate. If it's a top loader, then the entire shell comes off if it's a whirlpool or kitchenaid.

Difficulty removing the rear access panel (i think the tub's belt is broken, because the tub is not agitating).

If the machine is a top loader you should be able to see the belt underneath the machine by tilting the machine backwards, the problem could also be in the gearbox.

Removing cabinet of kenmore elite washing machine

It would help if I had your model number, but I'm assuming you have a Kenmore top loader that has the fill hoses attached under the left rear of the washer casing. With the brass clips removed, you should be able to move the cabinet off the frame slightly to give you enough room to reach your hand under the wash tub rim and disconnect the hoses. You may need a set of pliers to remove the hose clamps. I hope this helps you.

If you are having difficulty, please post back and let me know.

Was there a reason why you were removing the cabinet? Do you need further assistance?
