If you mean the door hook inside the door this is quite easy you need a flat small bladed screwdriver to split apart the plastic inner part of door from the outer keep working around till you have released all the catches there are several, the inner skin will pull away revealing the hook and a spring the hook just slides out refit new hook with spring and reassemble. easy.

I believe the part that most commonly breaks is behind the button that you push to open the door (Neff part no. 175601). I had the same problem and this was the cause. The part is plastic and pivots on two small spindles (one of which had broken off) to lift the hooks. The good news is the part is less than £5 from Neff. Its not that easy to fit though and you need to take the case off the microwave (after loosening the bottom plate) to access it. This exposes the internal electrics so make sure you have disconnected the microwave from the mains first. After that its just a case of lifting out the broken part and inserting the new one.

Why will door not stay latched ?

Check the door latches that stick out from the door. Push them up. Is there any resistance? If not, then the spring that pulls them downward either broke or came of its catches. You will need to call a repairman who will have to take the door apart and either replace or re-fasten that spring.

Hotpoint ultima sdw80 45cm door will not keep closed when in use still doing the wash cycle

Door catch needs replacing. Can be done yourself. Top 6 or so screws removes the top section of the door and the catch is held in by 2 screws and has two easy to remove / replace.

How to open the door of 773 model for replacing the damaged latch.? Hook like thing of the latch at the upper part is damaged and i have to replace it witha new latch. But I am not open the door.

To open the door, remove the appliance case and with a long small diameter screwdriver, gently lift the catch holder assembly up to release the door catches.
When you replace the door catch, ensure that the door fits correctly.

I pushed in the white piece where the door catches and the microwave will not run and the light will not go on

You've broken the door catch. You'll have to take off the outer casing and check whether they assembly has simply come loose or whether it's broken and in need of replacement.

As you haven't given specifics regarding make and model I cannot be any ore specific myself, but it's a very straightforward job and is usually almost identical regardless of make and model.

Door catch not working on whirlpool MH1150xm

You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

If you gently push up on the door latch heads (hook-like devices sticking out of the door) there should be spring tension. If they just flop right up, the spring is off inside.

Normally the problem is not the spring, but a broken spring mounting tab on the door latch head (hook) assembly or the inner door panel.

If it's the door panel, it's usually easier and cheaper to use epoxy and some kind of hardware to fashion a new spring mount.

The door latch head (hook) is easy to replace or repair if that's the issue.

Door Key Broke on Microwave Door

To replace the inner part of the latch is actually quite easy. Remove the glass tray from inside, then unplug the unit. Take to a flat surface and stand on edge so that the door will open flat. On the inside is a plastic trim that is just clipped on. Pop this off carefully and you will now see the assembly you need to replace. Note where the spring is anchored to the door before taking it apart. Put a small amount of lubricant on the guide pins of the new catch (petroleum jelly works great).

Getting door frame apart to install new handle

If you're replacing the handle, then order the choke cover..It's the piece on the inside of the door that covers the handle screws. No matter how carefull you are, it is almost guaranteed to break. If you break it, then you have one, and if not, send it back. DO NOT OPERATE MICRO WITHOUT CHOKE COVER.

Replacing the door catch

If you're talking about a hook-like device that sticks out of the door and goes into a hole in the chassis of the microwave (or any other internal part of the door for that matter) you'll have to take the door apart. Brands and models vary, but some use screws which are obvious, and others use hidden hooks similar to the ones in the drawing I've added to this post. If you can post or e-mail photos of the area where the part goes, we may be able to translate our experience with other brands to yours.
