No. If you have several million dollars you could convert the camera to digital. Otherwise you have two alternatives:
1) When you have your film processed, request that the pictures be scanned onto a CD. You can then deal with the pictures the same way as pictures taken with a digital camera.
2) Buy a digital camera.

It's really hard to get water out of a camera. You can allow it to dry out but still have water inside... and the longer it's in there, the more chance it's going to cause metal parts to corrode and rust. If you don't want to open this camera up and do some work to dry it out (this is tricky and you run the risk of damaging something as you open/close the camera. Another last ditch method is to remove the batts, and card, leave the compartments open, and then put it in a sealable plastic bag along with an open pint container of silica gel (you know, that stuff they put in the box with new cameras etc. to absorb moisture). You can purchase silica gel in quantity at a hobby shop and it's actually reusable if you follow directions. Leave the camera and the container of sil.gel. in the bag for several days-at this point you're just hoping to save a camera that's most likely not going to be saved. Other than that, you could send it in, but to be honest, used electronics such as cameras are more expensive to fix than they are to replace. The newer powershots have better resolution, and more features so if you love this camera, I think you will be blown away with the newer ones with more features... and the prices are fairly reasonable too. Hope this helps you make the call...
Well most AF mode do make a noise of some sort because its trying to adjust for a clear shot. I've played with several cameras and their features and notice this is a common thing, its usually the camera. But if your really worried about it and it does bother you, just take it in for a service. Maybe because of you dropping it several times, the noise is more louder now.
i dont think so..i think this is a generic problem for the fe210 just like mine. it would not shoot and only black screen in the view finder... my brother in law brought it to a technician and they replaced the lense assembly.
Hi, this is a problem alot of people get having with this type of camera. It could be one of a couple of things first check the battery is fully charges as a faulty battery would cause this problem, do you have a switch on the camera that lets you see the pictures stored on it without opening the lense, not all makes and models do this some have switch you can slide and some is just push button the push button you cant do this. So if yours is the push button one then the only thing to try if the battery isnt the problem is looking and removing anything thats caught in the side of lense. Ok try removing battery and any mem cards if you have any in it then bang the camera firmly into the palm of your hand sort of shocking the camera to dislodge any thing thats stuck in the side of lense do this few times then replace battery and switch on usually this solves the problem. If not then when you switch camera on grab the lense and help it come out taking it past where it gets stuck be gentle try this few times and see if camera comes on. Once the lense is passed certain point the camera should come on. So give that a try it does sound like something is jamming the lense so try pulling it out gently only do it when its supposed to be coming out when it trys to go back in let go again try this few times. Failing this then the problem could be that either the camera has been put down with the lense open and forced the lense motor damaging it or the other thing that people tend to do is switch camera on acidently whilst its in pocket or case so that it switches on but the lense is blocked from coming out this causing damage to lense motor. If the problem is in fact the lense motor then their is no way of getting this repaired they just dont repair these and you cant get the parts like lense motor no camera shop will even look at them as you cant get parts and also price of repair would cost more than replacing the camera. Also check to see if your lense turns round as its coming in or out if it does this then try turning the lense as its coming out. Let me know how you get on ok and ill try assist you further
With your description of the problem it seams to me that your camera doesn't have enought energy to continuo working properly. The view pictures mode always takes less energy to work while the shooting mode... a lot because it has to load several things on the camera, including the access to the card.
My advice is for you to try with different batteries but with a lot of mAh. The recharchable batteries have those numbers that, in a small definition, the higher the value more pictures you can take. Try to get 2 x AA batteries with at least 2100 mAh and try the turn on your camera. I think it will solve the situation.
