How do i fix a authentication pass word on a dell asperon 5150

What Operating System?

You have to have the exact password or network key that the system requires to connect wirelessly. The Capital letters and small letters must be exact, otherwise you will never connect.

Once you have the password correct, if you still have problems try looking at the Network Authentication to see if it is WEP, WPA or WPA2. You need to use the correct one.
Click Start/Control Panel/Network Connections double click on the Wireless Network and select Properties. When you see your network under wireless networks double click it and it will show you the Network Authentication.

Are you able to see any available wireless networks?

Make sure the wireless radio is on, the wireless switch should be located above the keyboard, it has the picture of a satellite.

My wlan will not enable

Check that wireless service is running
XP: Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, then press Enter.
Scroll down to "Wireless Zero Configuration" and right click on it and select Properties. Set it to Automatic and not Disabled, and press the Start button, then click OK.
That should start the service.
7 (vista): Click Start, type services.msc, then press Enter.
Scroll down to "WLAN AutoConfig" and right click on it and select Properties. Set it to Automatic and not Disabled, and press the Start button, then click OK.
That should start the service.

To enable wireless adapter we need to go to device manager and enable it.
XP:
1. Right click on My Computer and click on properties.
2. Click on Hardware tab on system properties window.
3. Click on Device Manager
To go to device manager we need to click on the device manager button.
Now we can see all the hardware devices connected to the computer. To see the status of our wireless adapter click on network adapters.
4. Enable the Wireless adapter
To enable wireless adapter, right click on it and click on enable.
7 (vista):
  1. Open the Start Menu by clicking the Start button. Click on Control Panel.
  2. In the Control Panel, click on Network and Internet.
  3. In the Network and Internet panel, click Network and Sharing Center.
  4. In the Network and Sharing Center, click "Manage network connections" in the Tasks list on the left side of the window.
  5. The Network Connections manager will open. Right-click the icon labeled Wireless Network Connection and click Enable on the menu displayed.

The last step checks if you have the wireless switch on or off. Locate the wireless button (in the middle, above the keyboard). Try to toggle it, see if is says anything.

I cannot find a list for wireless networks

This is super easy!

1. Go to Start> Control Panel> then depending on the Operating System you are using you will see Networking or Network Connections or Network and Internet. That is what you will select.
2. Select Network and Sharing Center. On the right hand side you will see where it says MANAGE WIRELESS NETWORKS. You will select that. If you do not see any networks in there it could be because your wireless network is turned off or disabled.

To make sure thats enabled click on the start menu again.
In the search engine type in ncpa.cpl> this will open up your network connections. You want to right click on where it says Wireless and insure that says DISABLE. ****IF IT SAYS ENABLE LEAVE ALONE*** Then try the first steps Again

Hope this helps = )

Laptop Winxp suddenly not seeing wireless network. Vista 64 main computer and Netgear WGT624 wireless router appear to be working fine.

Are you using the WZC on your WinXP computer of the wireless adapter's software utility? Try to reboot the computer and check on the system tray if you will see the computer icon with a red X, right click it and select view available wireless networks, if it cannot see anything... Go to Start, All Programs and look for anything that pertains to wireless adapters open the utility and refresh the list of wireless networks available.... if you see your wireless network name, select it and hit connect
