Dishwasher showing wrench symbol after using dishwashing liquid

My child accidentally put regular dishwashing liquid in dishwasher rather than dishwasher powder. Excessive foam was produced and the machine's warning alarm sounded, F1 "wrench" symbol showed and washer tried to keep going but then stopped. Poured water into drawer to disperse foam but no chageTried to work it again over the next few days but no change:alarm still sounding and trying to work.

I am assuming this F1 error is coming in only one drawer and that you are able to run the second drawer as normal.

In the case of your dishwasher the F1 error occured because the foam would have overflowed over the drawer top into the base of the unit. This would have triggered a flood switch which is there to protect water damage to the dishwasher. You can either wait a few more days until the base of the dishwasher drawer unit dries up or you can dry it yourself.

To dry the base, extend the drawer as far out as possible (turn mains power off first). The use a few towels and push them on to the base. Pull the towels out and dry the base especially the centre of it with a hair dryer.

The F1 should disappear once you put power back on .

Hope this helps. You have a very helful child who sets the dishwasher up. I have to keep pushing my children to even empty it.

Excessive bubbling

You should never see soap bubbles in a dishwasher, to get rid of the sudsing you need to take a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil and run through the dishwasher on pots and pans cycle, sounds like some regular dish soap accidentally got into the dishwasher, you may have to do several times depending on how much bubbles you have.

My fisher n paykel draw dishwasher wont start it has three buttons a (on/off )(play/pause)(lock symbol) wat do i press to make it all start,

First press the ON/ OFF button to see if the display lights up. Once you select the program from the panel then press the PLay/ Pause button to start the cycle. Pressing the key button will prevent accidental pressing of the ON/ OFF or the Play./ pause button when the dishwasher is running. It is a child lock button. To turn it off (if you have selected it) press Keylock button again.

Bosh wishwasherhow do you unlock the child safety lock?

Hello there and welcome to fixya The child lock function of your Bosch dishwasher prevents accidental program changes and stops children playing with the controls while the appliance is running. You might want to turn the lock off if it has been accidentally turned on. The controls of the dishwasher are disabled, preventing you from starting a new wash, while the child lock is running. The lock is simple to turn on and off, as necessary, in just a few seconds

Can we use liquid soap while rinsing the dishwasher?

No you can not use nondishwasher liquid (there are liquid soaps made for use in the dishwasher) to clean your tub. A very effective dishwasher cleaner is VINEGAR . Place a cup upright as if you were going to drink from it on upper rack and run a regular cycle.

It keeps running and shutting off. The repair symbol is lit on the screen that shows a little wrench

Is this problem with both the drawers or just one of them.

Do you get any other code in the display along with the wrench symbol?

Extra suds due to liquid soap in the machine overflowing. How do I drain it?

This is strange. Are you using an electric dishwasher liquid soap, OR are you using a dish soap that you manually use to wash dishes?
REGULAR dish soap liquid that is not specifically made for dishwashers creates a foamy suds with lots of bubbles that will in fact bubble out of your dishwasher. on the other hand. Electric Dishwasher detergent will NOT create foamy suds with lots of bubbles.
Switch your soap. The next cycle any residue suds or soap will be gone as long as you use the proper liquid detergent. I would also recommend using a rinse agent which further helps break down and rinse off residue.

Can liquid detergents be used in a dishwasher?

Only dishwasher detergent can be used in a dishwasher. Some of them are liquids. Regular liquid detergents such as dish detergent or laundry detergent is too sudsy and it will make so many suds that they will be all of the dishes and the floor if used.
