Question about Brother DCP 165C Compact Color Inkjet Multifunction Printer
Jam's are usaually paper caused unless the printer has seen a lot of use.
The paper needs to be good quality , usually 22lb bond or better. You don;t want cheap thin stuff that will leave a lot of dust or tears easily. It also tends to absorb moisture out of the air. Once you have good paper fan it, this is just grabbing a few sheets holding it at one end and fanning it in the air to make sure the pages are seperate. Don't overload the paper tray.
The printer can have problems if you have sued it a lot or used cheap paper. The paper and clay dust in the paper comes off and polishes the rubber rollers. When this happens they slip and cannot feed the paper properlly. Take some iso-propyl alcohol and a paper towel and rub them . They will go from shiney to dull when you have them cleaned. The dust can also get into other places and you may need to blwo ro vacuum out the printer.
Most problems are from the thin cheap paper, the polished rubber rollers, or a damaged paper tray.
