Xerox 8830 has error E7.01 Controller Communication problem

I have re booted machine but makes no difference, When i turn on printer it goes through the warm up from L9 - L0 flashes ready to print then comes up with E7.01 and I cant go any further

This error message comes when the printer is unable to communicate with the controller. According to the manual to rectify this problem you need to switch the printer and controller off and wait for a few seconds and turn the printer on first and then the controller. here is a link to the manual if you dont have it.

Error E7.01 is shown on Xerox 8330 if the controller board cannot communicate with the IOT(image output terminal).
In this case many a times the controller board needs to be replaced.In some cases Removing the connection cable from controller cable then reinserting cable again resets the copier and problem gets solved.But before replacing the controller board the controller board needs to be checked.Checking the controller board is not very easy.Its a technical procedure :----
E701 is reported when the controller is unable to communicate with the IOT(image output terminal).The following check might saves some further troubles. 
1.If the the controller communication error is shown is,connect a terminator to the SCSI port marked "HOST" 
2.Disconnect the IOT,power up the controller,press the reset switch on the controller board and allow reset cycle to complete,power down,reconnect,insert floppy firmware,power up.
3.Down grade to firmware 2.7
4.Check PSU +5V and +12V at the pcb.
5.Check HD drive present on the con-fig printout. 
6.Check reset switch if not stuck in on controller.
7.Check controller to IOT cable in good condition.If faulty or short then cable needs replacement.
8.Replaced the flash SIMMs 
And lastly if all the above fail to cure the fault then replaced the controller board.

    Brilliant advice dude! we had same issue and tried all the rebbots etc, but we didnt fix it until we removed and replaced the connection cable. Thanks so much.

I have LL43 on dispaly

If this does not work place a service call.
Power printer on and off. Make sure you power OFF the printer before powering OFF the Controller, and power ON the printer before you power ON the Controller.
  1. Power OFF the printer. The power switch is located directly to the left of where the power cable enters the machine.
  2. If you have a Controller installed, power OFF the Controller. Not all printers are equipped with a Controller. The Controller power switch is located just above the power switch.
  3. Wait at least 10 seconds.

    NOTE: Powering OFF, and then ON again too quickly will result in a software error.

  4. Power ON the printer.
  5. Power ON the Controller.
  6. Switch the A / B button to the ON position. The button will be in the out position and the green light will be ON.

    NOTE: Not all machines have the A / B Switch installed.

Drivers for copier and scanner xerox 8830

Hi
You can download 8830 drivers from http://www.xerox.com/digital-printing/large-format-printers/enus.html
you need to check the type of controller that is fitted to printer.
Look on the back at box where connections are terminated.
label should have (F5Y or CNG - N5T - HFT and others select which is fitted and operating system, other support documents are also found here.

I have a Xerox 8830, that is getting a LL43 error

An LL43 is a fuser temperature error.
When you first turn on the printer it should display printer warming up and after a little while display the LL43. If the fuser is still cold then you probably blew the thermal fuse and it will need to be replaced.
