Question about InFocus IN36 Projector

Projector blacks out after 5-7 minutes of being on

The projector will work for about 5 minutes after turned on and connected to dvd player but then will black out. it seems to be overheating, yet i put a fan over it to circulate air, and still the same problem occurs. Also, lines appear on the screen, subtle but almost as if from a bad connection or some type of interference.

Check your air filter. These clog with dust and dirt over time and if obstructed will prevent even a good air flow from entering the projector.

Changed lamp and now turns on and only stays on for about 5 minutes and red lamp light stays on in an acer ph110 projector

Hi, what you need to do is reset the lamp hours to get the red light to go if it is a new lamp. To do that plug in a source such as a laptop or dvd player. When the display from the laptop or picture comes up go into the menu and reset the lamp hours I had the same problem. Hope this works if not let me know.

Dell 1200MP works with PC but not the DVD player,

Hi.

If you have a replacement cable test the DVD using a different cable, you never know.

Try the following:

  • Unplug both projector and DVD from power.
  • Keep units connected together by video cable.
  • Connect back and restart the DVD first.
  • Restart the projector only once that DVD is ON.

If it still does not work , then there may be a fault.

I would like to connect my Sanyo PLV-Z2 project to a DVD player with HDMI output in order to higer quality. I used a HDMI->DVI cable and connected DVI to Z2. I set the input 2 as RGB-HDCP. However it does...

I have the same unit (2 of them actually.) I have spent a lot of time on this very issue. The problem is that although the unit is "supposed" to be HDCP (digital copy protection) compatible, it is not fully. I've found that with some DVD players it will work for a minute or two and then go black, and with others, it will flash on and off, and with some it will never do anything but black. I have only found 2 ways around this. 1 is to use a computer (which does not use the HDCP) windows Vista/windows7 might have the same problems, but XP/2000/Linux work perfectly. The other solution that worked was to use a Playstation3 which seems to work perfectly with it playing DVDs and BlueRays.

Projector signal goes bad after 25 minutes

It appears the projector was over heating. Why it affected the DVD signal and not the computer signal, I do not know. The other confusing thing was the projector was hanging off the ceiling and should have had plenty of circulation. When I climbed up to check for excessive dust, I found that the lens cap had been placed over the intake vent. I blew off the dust and removed the cap. After running the projector for an hour, it appears that the problem has been solved.

Color problem

Check the cables connected to the back of the projector. reinsert the cables a few times to get a good contact. Jiggle the connection at the projector to see if there is a bad connection, do this while viewing the image on the screen. If everything is good and no response to the connections, It might be the main/input board is bad and will need replacement.

Vertical lines moving from right to left at about 60 cycles

Probably solved long ago, but this sounds like RF interference. Is there a radio or television transmitting site within a few miles of your location? Or it could be the projector itself causing interference to the circuitry within the player yet not be a problem with any other source. Try it with another TV with the projector on and off. Even a small black and white will do.
