From your brief diagnosis so far I suggest you have a bad Power Supply. Weak Voltage power rail. You have enough power to light lights, and spin fans, but not enough to turn the Processor on. 1) ALL the lights use less than 1 Watt of power. 2) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts. 3) A typical Processor can use 51 to 125 Watts. Depends on what Processor it is. Suggest you test the Power Supply voltages, or use a KNOWN to be good, Compatible power supply for a test unit.

Hi! Please try to reseat memory modules and hard drive inside the system. Please make that the computer is completely off while doing this and is unplugged from a power outlet.

I get nothing except the fans running for about one second. No lights, no beeps, no noise. No nothing. If I push the button again I don't even get the fans to run. If I wait I get the fans again f

Hi,
Chances are that your power supply is toast.

Although you could try removing either one of your rams (if you have 2), and unplugging any optional device plugged onto the motherboard (Hard drive, dvd player)

In the worse case, your motherboard could be broken and need to be replaced.

Did anything particular happen before it stopped powering up?

Hi i have an r630 desktop and it did work but now i have no power to motherboard no fans cpu but i do have power to the hard drives and rom replaced power supply same problem

Maybe your motherboard is toast.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous.

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.

What causes red led on starting?

Remove Power Cord then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then put the cord back in and try to start it.

When you press the Power Button are you hearing the fans run, the disk drive running, the cd drive click and the light on it comes on for a second or two?

Anything shows up on the LCD Screen?

If you press the power button and absolutely nothing is happening then you most likely have a bad power supply.

If you press the power button and you start hearing beep sounds or blinking lights in a continuous pattern (ex. 1 long followed by 2 short) then you have a motherboard issue. Those beep sounds and blinking lights tells the technician what is going on with the computer.

My Sony vaio pcv-62 desktop will not turn on.. Please tell me why and send a solution to fix the problem.. Thanks

if you get beeping from the PC it is probably video problem. If it won't even turn on, no lights, beeping, or anything, it's either the power source or motherboard. either of the first two = $20-$30. motherboard is $100-$200

The only thing works on my 600 series is fan-nothing to screen

You can try reseating the memory and video card. You just pull them out and put them back in. Disconnect the power cord before. Also, the machine should beep. Those beep codes have diagnostic meanings. Listen to the beep, and google it: like 2 short 1 long or 4 short.

If the machine doesn't beep, the motherboard is bad.

Will not boot to operating system or the bios. no messages and no beeps

You probably have a bad power supply or one of your components is bad. I don't have enough info to point to anything specific, but here is some ideas you can try.
1) unplug all components internally but the power supply and check for bios beeps. Not the front panel wires though.
2) swap power supply or check with voltmeter for +5vdc, +12vdc, and -12vdc.
3) check for operation of fans attached to motherboard.
4) most likely suspects are motherboard, processor, or power supply.
