I dropped my camera now the flash is broken,

Sure. Nikon makes a line of what they call Speedlights. The SB-400, SB-600, SB-800, and SB-900 will give you full capabilities. Older models will give you somewhat less capabilities.

Third-party vendors also make flash units compatible with the D60.

External flash units tend to be more powerful than built-in flashes, which makes sense considering their size and additional batteries. They also move the light source further from the lens axis, reducing red-eye, improving shadows, etc. They also may allow bounce flash, which further softens the light.

Hi! I just got an SB-900 flashlight to go with my

Personally, I'd go with Manual on the camera so as to have complete control over both aperture and shutter speed, and iTTL on the flash. Bear in mind that a single SB-900 isn't going to light up an entire basketball court or wherever you might be photographing. If the pics are too dark, it's most likely that the subjects are too far away.

If you take a picture of a chair in the middle of your living room, does that come out too dark?

Need to find a photo capacitor for a sb-600 flash

http://www.jamicon.com/capacitor.html
you may use 680uF-1000 but 350-400Volt.
Check Voltage,be carefull!!!!!
in you system voltage exeed nominal level 330V! may be 350-360V-result die capacitor.
For normal use capacitor on 330v good maximum voltage wil be ~280V.

Nikon Speedlight SB-600 keeps firing

I believe that there is a safety feature built in that if the voltage in the capacitor gets too large the flash will fire, to prevent damage, could be this that is faulty, if it is a new main circuit board is required.

Flashing SB warning light when trying to take picture

Does the flash pop up? If not, try to pull it up manually. Look at your settings in the menu, maybe reset them.

SB-600 will never be on ready

The capacitor may be weak, or there is a problem at the component level that is not allowing the inverter to reach full voltage.

The flash will need shop service.
