General error - see your printer Documentation for information about clearing the error.

General error message.

I stupidly loaded the wrong type of paper into the printer and grabbed it out from the rear of before i realized what i'd done now i get the general error messase that will not clear regardless of no paper being jammed or any other obstruction that i can see.

please help me if you can

    Hi thanks fir the tip But i did manage to yank all the paper out at the time so i know there is nothing stuck in the printer it just keeps give the general error message!

I solved the problem .. during the ignition printer I inserted a sheet of paper in the printer (side cartridge) while the rollers running. the printer has expelled the sheet and the problem is solved

Give this a try
***Manually clear the print queue***
1) Open the "Services" panel. The easiest way to do this is click "Start" and type "Services.msc" (no quotes) in the search box.
2) Scroll down the list of services to find and select "Print Spooler". Click "Stop" in the left panel.
3) Open Windows Explorer ("Computer" in the Start menu). Navigate to the spooler directory (typically "C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS") .
4) Delete the files in the directory.
5) Go back to the Services panel and click "Start".

Epson cx3200 printer has printing problem
Hello cockie ,

You can diagnose most problems by checking the control panel LED's for ink out, paper-out or copier problem.
If a problem occurs while you're printing, you'll see an error message in the progress window on your computer.
It may also be helpful to try running a printer nozzle check.

See the following message problems and solutions:

 Error Message Probable Cause No color or black ink cartridge - - >
Press the Color Copy button to install a new ink cartridge. The indicated cartridge is not installed or it is installed incorrectly. Color or black ink out - - >
Press the Color Copy button to begin replacing the ink cartridge. The indicated cartridge is out of ink Ink cartridge error - - >
Press the Color Copy button to begin replacing the ink cartridge. There is something wrong with the ink cartridge. Paper jam or misfeed - - >
Press the Color Copy button and clear the paper jam by hand if necessary. Paper is jammed. Press the Color Copy button to clear the jam.
See the User's Guide for more troubleshooting tips. Paper out - - >
Load paper in the sheet feeder and press the Color Copy button. Paper is out. Load paper in the sheet feeder, then press the Color Copy button to continue printing. Scanner unit open - - >

Replaced ink cartridges in epson stylus photo 300 error message (general error see your printer documentation about clearing problem)
general error normally comes if the printer carriage movement is obstructed
try doing the following
1 switch off the printer and switch on after some time and see that the head carriage moves properly or not if not than
2 look for obstruction in the carriage path
3 the cartiages installed might not be seated properly try reinstalling them

Below are two possible soultions for a General Error:

1. When a General error message appears in the display on your printer's control panel, the print head may not be able to move because of some obstruction. Follow these steps:

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Open the printer's cover.
  3. Gently remove any jammed paper or other obstructions from the paper path.
  4. Close the cover and turn the printer back on.
alert_note.gif Note: If you can't remove the paper or foreign object yourself, do not use force and do not disassemble the printer.

2. When a General error message appears in the display on your printer's control panel, the print head may not be able to move back and forth freely.

If your printer's ink cartridge cover is not completely closed, the print head may have trouble moving back and forth. Follow these steps:

Turn off the printer.
  1. Open the printer's cover.
  2. Press the ink cartridge cover to make sure it is completely closed.
  3. Close the cover and turn the printer back on.
Before considering other options you might to try unplugging the printer from the power supply; give it 5 - 10 minutes before plugging back in and restarting.

The printer might General error or hardware error
Look into the head cleaning unit it might broken or not working properly. If the west ink is hard spry som water.

The led screen shows genera error
you need to reset your printer try doing this
  • Press and hold “Stop”, “Maintenance”, and “Power” buttons for about 10 seconds. A message will come on the screen saying counter is reset and to turn the printer off. The R200 and others don’t have a screen so just wait until the 10 seconds is up.
  • Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord. Wait about 1 minute and power the printer back up. The counter will be reset. That’s all there is to the reset procedure.
