The battery has gone. Needs a replacement. Even my Sony VAIO battery has gone but now I am using it as a desktop (always connected to the mains). Dont have the money to replace it.

akku Acer Aspire 3000 100 percent compatible with you Compaq Presario CQ61. I bought two Acer Aspire 3000 batteries from http://www.pcakkus.com/acer-aspire-3000.html two weeks ago, I felt very surprised, because it fits nearly as good as the original battery.
It maybe the problem of your graphics processor,so you can't see the NOOK working normally .Your Acer Aspire 9300 battery haven't effect to this mattery ,why you tried taking it out !

you did not say if it is PS 2 or USB mouse?
if PS2 go to MY COMPUTER, PROPERTIES,HARDWARE< DEVICE MGR, scroll down to MOUSE, then PROPERTIES, UNCHECK the box FAST INITIALIZATION
REBOOT. PS 2 mouse should work.
if USB mouse, scroll down to USB ports to see if there are any YELLOW check boxes under USB
this means no device is loaded and USB mouse (or anything else you insert) will not work.
click uninstall, SCAN, and let it reinstall.
try another mouse... hope you get cheese!

try sensing if your cpu fan is working, it is under the power switch side, you can see small exhaust slots, put your hand beside it and feel if some air is coming out when you turn on your pc.
When you turn you pc on and only orange light blinks, it means that no power was getting into it, it blinks because no electrical power is coming from your power adapter and the battery is drained. Check your power adapter cable, this is the very cause why your pc is shutting down. usually the wire from the adapter to the pc is faulty.
The first, best thing to do is to back up your data and do a system restore. Acer's have the restore function usually built into their acer system management software.
Restoring the computer will solve most issues. If you keep having issues after the restore you probably have a hardware error like a bad hard drive or bad memory.
Be sure to back up any important data as the restore will erase everything from the hard drive and set it back to the way it came from the factory
