SOURCE: the scanners won't scan information after being programmed

I would scan default barcode again. If you are using PS2 connectors. Scan barcode for PS2 keyboard. And USB for USB connectors. Most likely it is not seeing the device. Or treating as a keyboard as it should.

SOURCE: Barcode scanner scans and beeps, but will not put the numbers in the computer

There is more than one way for that imager to send data to the computer. Are you using USB, serial, or is there a little box that goes between your existing keyboard and the PC that accepts the scanner connector?

Have you tried taking the battery out of the scanner and then reinserting it? THis should reset the scanner to some degree.

It really depends which barcodes you scanned in the manual.

Your best chance seems to be a reset to the original settings, for which you may need to look at the manual.

Until a few years back, the PDA scanners only communicated with the other PDAs or PCs via the infrared or the serial COM port. The 90's decade brought with it the wireless technology though it became widely used at the beginning of 2000s with the introduction of notebooks and significant decrease in their costs. With the increasing use of Bluetooth among the users of cell phone, transferring of coded info too became simple, convenient and practical. Bluetooth connectivity provides more extensive applications of these scanners.
As PDA scanners are like a mix of PC and phone, so both Wi-Fi features and Bluetooth have been included in the majority of the scanners. In the era where everything is networked for increasing the level of information sharing among employees as well as numerous divisions, it doesn't appear practical for a consumer to come over one more computer right after scanning, in order to read interpreted info.
Additionally, there are a number of other things you'll want to know regarding PDA functioning besides Bluetooth as well as connecting features like Wifi. Indeed, there're. Battery life requires a comprehensive thought since these scanners use up significantly more power due to that battery particularly old one may require regular charging. The palm barcode scanners tend to be more appealing as these take not as much power. But, both scanners can move the data over the wireless network to the host Computer for fast and dependable inventory management.

The pocket scanners integrate much better with additional applications, even though kinds of user input are very popular among the Pocket PC.
You should know various sorts of inputs accessible for barcode scanners. Most Palm as well as Pocket PC barcode scanners includes writing on the PDA facility making use of stylus just as you write over the paper using pen. For the majority of PDA scanner models, the only option is to use onscreen keyboard unless of course user possesses a built-in keypad.
3: Scanning Methods
Itemized info shouldn't be changed however inventory ID may require changes if it's read improperly by the PDA barcode scanner. The scanning method can ne standardized by including a guide on related fields for editing. Additional information can also be included. Finding out your scanning procedure of these imagers being utilized can also be extremely important. The software might be customized to obtain the highest outputs.
4: Knowing the Barcode
Knowing the kind of barcode that is being scanned not just assists users in scanning the right barcodes but it also enables to choose the best PDA barcode scanner. Several PDA scanners scan with the CCD technology which makes use of a camera for capturing the image. The software uses this image for drawing the info in the language which might be understood by users. This permits flexibility in contrast to the laser barcode scanners that scan only in the linear fashion. Utilizing PDA CCD barcode scanners, 2D barcodes as well as conventional 1D linear barcodes could be scanned having the same perfection. Therefore, always purchase the right scanner with respect to barcode's features.
5: Coping with User Errors
The best or even the priciest scanners could be erroneous; so it's required to understand the way to cope with these issues because changing a scanner isn't practical nor is it possible. The Laser PDA scanners are faster than the CCD scanners. Due to the progress in technology, the gap is rapidly thinning. At times, barcodes tend to be unreadable because of damage which usually occurs as a result of excessive heat or light. Sometimes as time passes, the barcodes begin working again. In case you sense additional gravity of the problem, don't fiddle a lot with the barcode, alternatively call experts for assistance.

Scanner won't scan library barcodes.

The barcode reader is something that the backup software typically uses to identify which tape it is dealing with.
So typically your backup software can already natively read the barcode and therefor you don't need any other software.
The linked barcode reader is probably for reading a barcode that was provided via a picture (from a scanner or camera). This has nothing to do with the barcode reader that can be part of a tape library. NET UPC Barcode Reader

Scanner shows number but won't scan to computer

If you're sure that the barcode is correct then ignore the following.

Otherwise, download a free barcode font and install.

1. Open up wordpad .. and type any number say "12345", and then convert it by choosing the barcode font.
2. Print out the barcode (usually at least 26pt)
3. Leave wordpad as the active window and scan the barcode
4. "12345" should be inserted into the wordpad document.

Now you know that it works.

This should work on the default setting of most scanners.

Is the cradle connected to the pc via either usb, serial or keyboard wedge?

If so you will need to first, pair the scanner with the cradle by scanning the barcode on the cradle and second, configure the cradle properly so it transmits the data to the host.

Download the product reference guide from motorola website. You will get all the configuration information you need in there.
