Question about Computers & Internet
I'm currently working on an HP dv5000 laptop running windows XP. The problem is the touchpad and keyboard stop working and dont start working again even after letting it sit overnight.
I just reinstalled the operating system and that didn't resolve the issue. After that i am almost positive that it's the motherboard because whenever you plug in any USB device to any of the 3 USB ports the problem occurs instantly.
Also it's not a driver issue mainly because all the driver install correctly and i reformatted the computer.
Any ideas would be good, i don't want to attempt to search for it on google again.
And another addition is that it's not a power issue either.
Although in windows xp, you do not have to install the usb drivers but you can give it a try, by installing them from your motherboard driver cd. and also try a fresh install of your touchpad driver.

Wasn't a bad try, but still the problem exists. I don't see how that would effect the keyboard though.
Had to replace the motherboard to solve the issue. Just figured I'd let you know for future reference.
