Question about Alps MD 5000 Thermal Printer
I just recently bought the ALPS MD-5000 Printer from Canada on ebay. I also bought a Stepdown transformer as the Printer only holds 110 to 115v plug, I plugged it into the Stepdown transformer I got, when I press the power button, It does bloody nothing, Won't turn on, or anything.
The feeback from the seller was 100% Positive, the seller even showed pictures of it working, But for some reason when i bought it, It won't turn on when I got it. what has happened, How can I get it to work?
I had a similar problem to this. It turned out that the button on the main circuit board was broken. Take the cover off the printer and look at the main circuit board for any damage. I replaced the broken button and the printer turned on right away. Another option you can try is to replace the entire board if you can find a "parts" printer on ebay.
