Hpdeskjet problem My hp Deskjet 2560 won't print. It was working fine last time I used it. The light under the cancel (x) button is blinks when I turn the printer off and back on. The light goes out when I press the cancel button but it still won't print

A light blinking under the cancel button usually indicates a problem with the color cartridge.
Go to this page for instructions on resolving that issue - about halfway down the page is a picture of your printer control panel with both the left and right light blinking. The section explains that it's to help if "One or both print cartridge status lights are on and blinking."

In this error condition, the following light pattern displays on the product control panel and a message might display on the computer:
  • Print Cartridge status light : On
  • Resume light : Off
  • Power light : On

    • The cover on the product might be open.
    • There might be a problem with one or both cartridges.

  1. If the cover on the product is open, close it.
  2. Press the Resume button (c01219285.bmp ) to continue printing.
Solution two: Determine the cartridge issue When there is an issue with a cartridge, a yellow arrow on top of the carriage (inside the product) points to a drawing of a cartridge that indicates what the issue is. Follow these steps to determine the cartridge issue, and then continue to the next section for solutions to resolve the issue.
  1. Open the top cover on the product. Wait for the carriage to move. The yellow arrow on top of the carriage (inside the product) points to a drawing of a cartridge that indicates what the issue is.
  2. Look at the drawing and then find the icon in the following figure that matches the drawing. Each of these icons represents a different cartridge issue. Use the icons to determine the cartridge issue. Hhp deskjet 5550 - orange and green light keep

1) Close the print head cover, and turn off the printer. While pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press the Power button. (Do not release the buttons. The LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.) 2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (Do not release the Power button.) 3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button 3 times, and then release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. 4) When the LED stops blinking and lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button 4 times. Finally press the Power button.

the print spooler is not letting it print cancel the pending jobs you will be able to print fine keep on cancelling the documents unless the icon shows 0 document pending ....

please reset your printer. turn off your printer, leave it for 30 sec and turn it on again....

Actually for a HP deskjet 990cxi

Alignment:

1. Turn on the HP DeskJet.
2. Disconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one.
3. Press the sequence of front panel buttons below to start the print cartridge alignment process.
The button-press sequence must be completed within ten seconds. It might take several tries to complete the sequence within ten seconds.
1. Press and hold Cancel .
2. While holding Cancel , press On .
3. When the Check Paper and Check Print Cartridge lights begin to blink simultaneously, release both buttons.
4. Press Cancel again.
5. Press Copies .
6. Press Paper Type .
7. Press Color Start Copy .
The alignment page will begin printing.
If the alignment page does not print, repeat the button-press sequence in this step.
4. When the alignment page has printed, place the page face down on the scanner glass and press Scan .
The alignment is complete when the On light stops blinking.
5. Reconnect the USB cable.

PRINTER LIGHTS BLINKING RED THEN GREEN

Either you have ran out of an ink, because some epsons wont run until you replace cartridge, you have a document pending a print, or you need to disconnect printer, uninstall drivers from Add/emove programmes. Re-install driver then re connect printer when prompted
