Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

I had a Motorla RAZR V3 phone (AT&T service) where the charging port broke so the battery could not be recharged. I took it to a battery specialist who charged it outside the phone and bought a new phone. On my old phone, I had about 200+ text messages in the inbox, all LOCKED so I would not delete them by accident. They are now gone. They are not on the sim card that moved to the new phone and they cannot be gotten off the old phone, with a recharged battery, even when I put the original sim card back into it. Is there anyway to access them. AT&T says this is a problem with the RAZR3 and said Motorola does not have software to get them back for privacy reasons. I don't understand how LOCKED messages could go away, Some of these are very personal, like the last message I got from my deceased father. I can't believe Motorola would make, and AT&T would sell, something like this without warning that you can't count on these things being saved, even when you have taken the time to LOCK them. Suggestions, including paying for service or software, are welcome. Thanks.

I am very sorry but what you have been told is indeed true. You see, the phone stores the data in an encoded form in NVRAM, now this data. is inside the actual Phone, NOT on the SIM card, as such, if you cannot access the Phones, internal memory, then there is no way to communicate with "it" to access the data area. it is just that simple. Even if you were to be able to repair the internals of the phone, that still would not allow you to access the data as it has most likely been erased as the machine goes to preinitialize. Then it will simply flush the memory to set it up again. However IF it is still there maybe you can access the data and download it and try to encode it.
If you haven't doesn't anything to the phone, and you can access your phone with USB cable or bluetooth, then using "Hacking" software you may be able to access the information, however it will not be in "English" it will be in "Code" and as such, there is your problem, as you cannot "Decode" this without special software, and that according to Motorola, there is none. but please try these hacking links.
Have a look at these hacking sites below they may offer some help.

Below is the Google link to the hacking software copy past to the address bar, and there will be many many site to investigate.

Thanks, I will try the hacking software.

I sort of understand that, when the phone lost power and reinitialized, that could delete messages, though that sounds a lot more like a bug than a feature.

But, if the messages were locked, why doesn't that override the reintialization/deletion? Or, put another way, what does "locked" mean if it doesn't mean "don't delete?"

V3 not charing

Try a known good charger and battery. If it still doesnt charge then its your charging port on the phone itself. If its ever been snagged while plugged in, high chances are that its the port itself and the best bet is to sell the phone on ebay and get another razr. Theyre fairly cheap now and plentiful. :)

I have the same problem but I can't enter the debug menu using

I have a Motorola RAZR V3x which has worked reliably for about 3 years. Very recently (having been recharged a couple of hours earlier & without any prior suggestion of impending battery failure), the phone has refused to turn on and attempts to charge it with the factory charger do not even light the blue charge indicator. An attempt to charge it through the computer's USB port lit the blue charge indicator for about 1 second but also failed to charge the battery.

Holding a charge

Their website says only 6 hours of talk time for that battery. Could be that's all your gonna get from it. Every phone I've ever owned has needed to be recharged every other day and sooner if it's used more.

Invalid Battery

Totally discharging the battery is the way to go. But what you can also do to use your phone in the meantime is this. Plug your charger into the phone withOUT your battery in. It will tell you "Unable to Charge." When it says this, put the battery in. It might tell you "Invalid Battery" a couple more times, but it did eventually say "Charging Battery" for me. After that, simply turn the phone on and it will return to normal. This is when you drain the battery completely. Once I did that, I did not get the invalid battery error again.

Dead battery won't recharge

if it still new and you've still got the warranty then you should ask for replacement of the whole unit.
seems that the problem of your phone is the unit itself, the charging circuit migth have disorders/malfuntioning.
ever tried checking for the specifications and directions for charging the unit.
i greatly suggest that if you got the warranty still, have it replaced.
good day!!!
