SOURCE: Amana LEA60AW dryer problem??

Check the door switch to see if it is engaging. This will shut down the motor. I usually do this with a plastic ink pen to see if I hear a clicking.

SOURCE: drying timer on auto dry

I called LG...they said to unplug the dryer for 5 min. to reset the timer ...this solved the problem.
They also said not to use dryer sheets during the sensor dry cycle as the coating on the dryer sheets causes the sensor to malfunction as it can't read the humidity level in the dryer.

SOURCE: Timer does not advance, dryer keeps running.

in auto dry the timer motor receives voltage to advance by way of the cycling thermostat.[each time the thermostat opens to stop the heat the switch in the thermo then changes that voltage up to the timer and it will advance timer motor until it closes again for heat and this continues till clothes are dry]so as long as timer is receiving that voltage and not advancing then i agree its the timer.other wise it could be a failing/intermident cycling thermostat.a thought.in timed dry the timer motor receives constant voltage.so if never stalls in timed dry it may be a clue that the timer is ok. i hope this helps you understand whats going on. God bless ,tom

SOURCE: Dryer Won't Start

Make sure it has power. Then:Check the door switch. A little lever sticking down through top right of door opening. If it is not there you will need new door switch(sometimes the little lever breaks off). If it is there and does not click when you press it in you need a new door switch. if it clicks when you close the door then you have a bad thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is found by taking the back of the dryer off. The fuse is an oblong white plastic piece with 2 wires attached.

My Kenmore model 70 dryer works with the timer but the auto-dry feature will never turn off the dryer. I'm assuming that this is a moisture sensor problem. Info from the tag inside the dryer: type:...

are your clothes drying?when the dryer heats up the heat shuts off then the timer will move, when the heat starts the timer stops,no heat no timer movement.when did you last clean out the dryer?you need to clean out the vent line if it's a long run i use a leaf blower to clean it out,you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is,you should do this once a year so you don't have a fire and your clothes will dry on time and you won't have any problems like this, try running it with the vent line off to see if this helps.you also could have a bad thermostat but you should clean it first anyway

Kenmore 70 Series Dryer not heating and not cutting off

I had an identical problem to yours this weekend with my Kenmore dryer. There were 2 problems.

1. Timer was broken. Does not advance to "OFF" position on timed dry, however it still works for auto-dry.

2. Thermal fuse was blown. Upon replacing, dryer heated up normally.

I believe when the timer broke, the dryer had kept running and blew the thermal fuse. On Sears' website, thermal fuse is $5.30, timer is roughly $80.

Kenmore Electric dryer runs on cool down forever.

Call the mfr and ask them about it. This problem may be pretty complicated. There may be a problem with your board that tells it to go to cool down. Can you set the timer for 45-60 minutes and it stay on heat for that long?

check for blocked vent tube. You should have a very strong flow coming out.If it is weak it will run badly. It is a common call.If its not weak air flow than run the dryer for at least 20 minutes.Open the door and if has no heat inside .......change the split coils. Please Rate This !!!
