Question about Gateway GT5662 Desktop PC
!) how old is the *cough cough i cant believe you bought a gateway cough?2) have you opened the case to see if there is a **** ton of dust on thie inside? maybe your processor is overheating because the heatsink fins the dissapate the processor's heat are caked with dust? the processor overheating will cause these symptoms exactly... with a pc other than gateway. with a agateway you can never truly tell what it is because they **** so bad. but the first place to look is the inside. clean out that dust and the freezeups and random turn offs will stop. if there is no dust, then do a checkdisk on your harddrive, tho i doubt it is the cause of the random turn offs. the only other thing that would cause random turn offs if there is no dust is a motherboard that sucks, i mean is going bad or bad already. clean out that dust!
