Question about Westinghouse LTV-32w4 32.02 in. LCD HDTV

Westinghouse Sucks I bought a 32 LCD Westinghouse TV 12 months ago. It stopped working so I brought it to a TV repair shop. They determined that the main board went out. The TV's power supply is working but there is no screen or sound, nothing. The TV repair shop had to call Westinghouse to inquire about a replacement part. Funny, Westinghouse doesn?t make replacement parts for this TV. Westinghouse said we need to ship it back to them and they will send us a new TV. Okay that sounds good but they wont pay the $100 plus shipping costs for us to ship the broken TV back to them. Also, they make you send them the TV before they send you the replacement TV. That can take days. If the customer's TV went out because of the company?s faulty product, the customer shouldn't have to dic around with this shipping issue ? Waa, Waa! The TV was nice but for it to conk out in one-year shows what shi++y merchandise Westinghouse is selling to their consumers. ?Buyer Beware?

    This Westinghouse TV/DVR sucks. Had it less than a year. Will not turn on. Strangely similiar to other posted problems. Called Westinghouse who wants me to ship it back to them. What a crock! Will never buy another Westinghouse product again!

    Bought 32 in HD LCD TV online April 11. Picture went out on 8th day. Told me to ship to repair in CA and they would reimburse me. 3 weeks later, no tv, no information, I keep calling, and was informed no reimbursement on shipping- "but they don't know why it is taking so long." Told to wait for an email that will have tracking. Got hung up on. Lied to. The last one I talked to was a supervisor that pretended not to know anything and wanted me to describe the problem. When I started, he just kept saying yes, thats all here in the file. What a *******. Include me on the never again Westinghouse **** merchandise list.

    LTV32w1 the TV input began dropping out after a warm up. Shutting down and restarting over would get it back.. This worked for a month . Now caannot get unit on only blue light to indicate power is on.

    I have had a Westinghouse 32" TV for less than six months. It now has a vertical line of hash marks - always. I contacted Westinghouse and they said it is the panel and they do not have replecement panels so I must send the TV to CA and they will replace it with a "refurbished" TV. I do not have the container it came in and UPS wants $330.00 to pack and ship to CA. Westinghouse will not pay. The warranty says nothing about "refurbished" TVs it only states they will replace with new or rebuilt replacement parts. It will be less expensive to buy a new TV. They have simply taken me through the unplug/plug stuff in trouble shooting over the phone.

    13 months on a 1800 dollar tv Westinghouse LTV-32w1

    The old tvs easily got 10 years

    Parts not available ---Big ripoff

    Lines through all of screen, menues are distorted and not sharp

    Had tv to repair shop and said the panel would cost as much as a replacment tv This is the last of westinghouse for me.

    I have a Westinghouse 32 inch lcd. It worked fine for the first year then we started having problems. The screen would just shut off. The power light was still blue, but the screen was black. The only way to get it back on would be to shut it off and then turn it on again. It would then stay on for 2 hours and repeat. Now it shuts off every 24 minutes and doesn't come back on unless you leave it off for 5 minutes! What a piece of ****. I will never buy this product again. I have my 37 inch old tv in the basement that is over 10 years old and works better than this pile of ****

    My Westinghouse lasted 1 day. 7 weeks later it was replaced. The replacement has lasted 14 weeks. Westinghouse Sucks

    Bought a Westinghouse 42" and the HDMI ports went out after 5 months. Took me 50 days to receive a replacement and it was refurbished with scratches on it. What a crock and terrible customer service. Oh and they slashed the original 1 yr warranty down to 90 days because they went cheap and shipped me a refurbished model. Never Westinghouse again!

    Someone had mentioned a class action suite, does anyone have information on how we can go about doing this?
    Is it something which we would have to do through the Federal government?
    Some of my problems are as follows:

    Our 32in Westinghouse has many of the same problems as described. On occasion the picture freezes and the only way to get the picture back is to unplug the unit and wait a few minutes then reconnect and turn it back on - great if your watching a show and want to see the ending.
    We also have the problem where it will "bleed" green or red. When we called their customer service they suggested that we do the factory reinstall settings. That didn't work so next they suggested operating it on a dedicated line, still have the same problem

    We bought a 32" LCD Westinghouse TV and 12 months and 2 weeks after the warranty expired, the TV had no picture. We called Westinghouse and we were told "too bad". The closest repair shop is 2 hours away and they don't even service Westinghouse TV's. I was so Pi**ed. I think they are ripping off customers and don't even care. I will NEVER buy anything with the name Westinghouse on it ever again.

My 32 inch westinghouse was 549.99 i got it just before lcd prices fell.It died 16 months later.I was told not to bother fixing the power supply board because the main board was on its way out.

I had the same problem with a TX-52f480s. The main board blew after 1.5 years and the repair shop can't get parts. Furthermore, Westinghouse LCD TV customer support number is out of order, their generic number sent me to a place that couldn't help but who told me to call corp HQ, who had an answering machine that took my number and hung up. Think they called me back? Hahaha...no they did not call back.

BTW, I bought this because it was an editor's choice, not because it was cheap. It may look good on paper and on the test bench, but what a piece of **** company.

Why don't you splice an extension cord on to it? You can then plug it in to a receptacle. Make sure you use a surge protector.

Yeah, mine had it's back light go out in less then 30 days...and they have kept in on their loading dock to ship back to me for an even longer period then that! They have lost a customer here.

How can it take over $100 to ship back to cali to their repair center!? FedEx came to my door and shipped it for $28.

To suggest people bought this tv because it was cheap is inappropriate. I bought a westinghouse because from the research I had done on line it was rated as one the the top 3 or 4 brands and the price made them easily the best option for me. I have developed a yellow and red static issue with my 32 in that comes and goes. Hearing the problems that other have had indicates to me however that i am pretty much out of luck and that westinghouse has lost another costomer. I will be contacting their NY offices ... not holding out any hopes though.

I have a 32 " Westinghouse LCD TV Model# LTV-32w1. I mounted it on a wall and cut the cord cap off and hard wired into a junction box in the attic. Now we are moving and I need a new power cord. Where do I get one?

You all know you picked the Westinghouse brand cuz it was cheap.
Avoid cheap brands like Vizio, Magnavox, Philips, and Sylvania etc... If you don't buy eventually they will go away.Next time get a plan fro the TV. If you had a service plan on the TV you would already have a new one. Plans always cost less than repair and shipping. Don't be cheap. BUY THE SERVICE PLAN.

Don't complain about their TVs. You knew it was cheap when you bought it. If you bought a service plan when you bought the TV you would have had a new TV instead of going to get it repaired. You always spend more on repair than on a service plan. BUY THE PLAN FOR THE TV NEXT TIME. PERIOD

Hi! I purchased the philips LCD at Florida, then 2 months after i bought it, it suddenly won't work, it has power but only black color appears on the screen...I wont be able return it from the store where...


Ur tv dosen't work in the Philippines,because tv used different signal frequence in ASIA tv signal work only as PAL frequence only.The tv u bought in the US work only on frequence call NTSC so it will not work in ASIA.

We bought vizio 32 in flat screen tv 2 yrs ago and one day the tv just went to a blank screen and will not come back on or off.


On the power supply circuit board some capacitors will vent (top will pop open), dome, or bulge. They can be replaced but the board is two sided and easy to damage. Having the caps replaced at a repair shop is the best way to go. If diyers try it the board can be damaged and then it would have to be replaced. Repair may cost a couple hundred dollars, but a new board can cost that alone, not including installation.

Video problems with my westinghouse LTV 32 W 3 HD


This seems to be associated with the overheating of some component. On my set I need to check that the backlight is set to a low level. On reset it automatically adjusts to a level above maximum and the green screen will appear in a few minutes. I took the back off and that helped some.

Screen goes black, sound unaffected. Can be remedied by turning off and immediately back on, but it will do it again and again and again.

Westinghouse 32 in LCD TV


I have had this problem now for about six months with my Niko OPT-3211W. After replacing the Inverter card, VIT70002.00 as suggested nothing changed. I then read that it may be a couple of capacitors in the power supply, but I do not have the skills needed to replace them, nor do I want to pay to fix it. The solution is simple... turn on the TV and wait two to five minutes, then turn off the main power. I suggest using a power strip. Then turn the power back on in two to five seconds. The TV will come back on and it works great from then on. I thought that it was a freak thing, but it keeps working.
