Question about Dell Computers & Internet

1 Answer

In trying to clear a virus I removed my internet connection. How do I get it back? I went to ''add/remove'' and removed explorer 8. how do I get this ''virus Alert'' off my computer? It pops up saying I don't have my firewall turned on and that I don't have Spyware on the computer. I have checked both and they are turned on. This looks like it is Windows generated. It has taken control of everything and blocks everything execpt my spyware, reg.cleaner , start menu and safe mode. It just blocks the internet connection but it automattically(?) shows a page of gross ****.

Now VEN

go out to mister softee (microsoft) web page and download ie8 again this may be difficult. 1) have you been in your control panel and looked at the file (icon ) for firewall. please check that and also "defender" which is Microsofts program both with stop you. take it slow keep a note of all setting you change since they may have to be returned to it.

Lasr resort, have you tried restore function on windows, if you know when you did it, go to restore and pick the date before you stipped ie 8 off your machine. now when you use restore anything you did after that date will not be there so, if you added anything please back up say your word doc. pics programs you will have the cd's.
i think restore will help because the other way may be to painfull, and buddy dont ever remove ie from your machine it is painfull because if you take 8 off thinking im going back to 7 nuuunu
can be done but painfull, i promise you

please let me know how you make out

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to remove Search Safer Chatzum virus?

start up in safe mode with networking, then try to run malwarebytes as antivirus programs are virtually useless this day in age. If that doesn't catch it try hitman pro and after it is removed run ccleaner to fix the registry. If all of that doesn't pan out you need to do a full wipe/reinstall of the OS on the HDD

Microsoft installed Internet explorer No. 9 without my knowledge. I want Internet Explorer No. 8

Yo need to go to the control panel and open add/remove programs.
At the top select the show updates box.
Then look down the list to find the update for internet explorer 9 and click to remove, there may be more than one to remove.

You could also consider try other browsers, Opera, Google chrome and Mozilla all work better than Internet Explorer and are all free to download.

I want to reinstall Internet Explorer 8 and get rid of I E 9

Hello,

Go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8 select your operating system and download IE 8 to your desktop.
You should be able to go to the control panel and select add/remove programs or programs and settings. Scroll down the list until you find internet explorer 9. Select it and press remove. This should remove 9 and restore 8. If it doesn't restore 8, use the previously downloaded installer for internet explorer 8 to get you back in action.

My internet explorer 9 is always shutting down without apparent reason, especially when trying to share a video from youtube onto facebook

I would suggest for the meantime to move back to IE 8 as there are lots of issues with IE 9 as of today July 15, 2011. I wrote down information how to put it back to IE8.
1.Go to the Add or Remove Programs section of the Control Panel. In Windows 7 you will find this just below the address bar when you open my computer. 2. On the Add or Remove Programs make sure to show updates 3. When the list has been populated, scroll down until you find the Internet Explorer section 4. Remove/uninstall Internet Explorer 9 leaving the Internet Explorer 8 on the list 5. After completing the removal, reboot your computer You should now have Internet Explorer 8 active on your system.
