Question about ViewSonic Precision Pro8100 Projector

Unit will not turn on at all

Thought the problem was the bulb, changed it out, power to outlet is great, all components are on and functioning but the projector itself will not power up, just over a year old.

If you are not receiving any lights or not powering up at all. I would check the fuse. Typically the fuse is located in the projector near where you plug the power cord. Ck to see if the fuse is good or bad by visual or meter.

Sylvania sa 140 digital timer

Sylvania timers often come with long warranty. Call 888-548-4484/ hardwareinnovations.com
http://waterheatertimer.org/Sylvania-timers-and-manuals.html
Usually if batteries are changed, you want to reset timer. Press reset button, for 5 seconds and then reprogram. If functionality is not restored after reset, then timer has gone bad.
Check outlet for power, makes sure bulb is working, turn light on, try timer on different outlet and with different lamp.

Power outlet

Sometimes accumulation of kitchen dirt can reduce contact on the outlet . If you can use a contact cleaning spray or even a WD40 into the contact it might help. If not you will need to open the outlet to confirm the case of power within the unit. Failure of power means the circuit must be traced back but presence of power confirms the switch fault.
You can use a holder and bulb to confirm the power along with a line tester to confirm if the phase is present. A multimeter is not an expensive investment but must be careful to use in the correct range.

The light has gone out on my dimplex ASP20 fire.

There are several light bulbs that create the flame effect. However, it's unusual for all to go bad at one time. If you still have your Owners Manual, it will tell and show you how to access and change the bulbs. In the meantime, turn the Master ON/OFF switch to OFF and Unplug the unit from the wall outlet. Wait 12 to 15 minutes and plug the unit back in. Turn ON the Master ON/OFF switch and test each function one at a time. Hopefully, the time unplugged gave the unit time enough to reset itself. However, if this continues to occur on a regular basis, contact Dimplex USA, Technical Service at
888-346-7539

If you want to Troubleshoot and access the bulbs yourself: Remove the Plexiglas from the front of the fireplace and carefully remove the logs. The ember bed below where the logs were sitting will lift out and you'll have complete access to the bulbs. The bulbs are 60 watt, small base, chandlier bulbs.

Hope this helps you solve the problem

Hamburger in foil wrap put in microwave - shorted unit out

Hi- The first thing here is safety. If the power supply is good- 120v at outlet- then address the fuse in the cabinet. Open door, remove screw(s) holding control panel, and tilt out panel. Fuse should be visible. Check for continuity. If bad, replace with 15amp appliance fuse. Plug in and check for operation. If fuse blows again, unplug and start looking at a new microwave. Let me know if this info helps. Have more if needed- Thanks- Ed

My tv doesnt turn on but it has a clicking sound

Hi, this clicking sound is coming from the power supply board. this Board accepts the power stream from the wall outlet and regulates it with capacitors and resistors and transformers etc.. when these components are malfunctioning or damaged, your unit will make these clicking noises.

Simply replacing the power supply board and fly back, if installed, will fix this issue.

Please rate and have a great day:)

Bad components

Depending on brand/age it may be a normally closed relay which would be open when the 110 line voltage is present and closed when the voltage drops out. connected in line between the battery and the bulb in the unit, when the power goes out the relay closes completing the circuit between the battery and the bulb and causing it to illiminate it.

Some newer more sophisticated models have electronic systems that provide essentially the same functionality

I have a samsung ht-x40 dvd home theater system that powers up briefly showing "hello" display, then the function it's on. Immediatly after that the display comes up saying "protection"...

Check the components near the fan in the back to see if any caps are fried (looks like it exploded)causing the protection circuit to come on if this is fine then check the fan to see if it if freely moving.

Unit is always shutting down / turning off

Try first unplugging power cable for five minutes and using a different power outlet, if you still get the problem, the unit has a faulty power supply on the board inside.

Maytag Microwave Power Outage - Model MMV5000BAB

Found this under GE instead of Maytag, but can answer for you here.

It may be the internal fuse, but more likely it is the thermostat on the magnetron.
