This notebook( twinhead model# F12DT) worked fine earlier this morning, but now it will not boot? There is power both via AC and battery.
The power light will illuminate, but that is all..no other sounds
Sounds like a problem i had with a philips laptop (which appears to be a twinhead repackaged as a philips)
This might sound weird but it works........
Take the battery out and disconnect from the ac
Press and hold the power button for about 40secs
connect the ac but don't replace the battery and press the power button
then replace the battery and turn it on. it should work

Have you tried booting in safe mode pressing F8 when starting up just after you power up, then a menu appears & you can try sytem restore from there or safe mode if you know what to get rid of on the system.
If not boot with a copy of windows in the drive & start again from fresh!
Hope this help's !

Did you try to download all of the updates that are available? You might need to go to the company web site and see if there is a BIOS Flash for your notebook. Vista has a lot of problems that Microsoft can't even explain.
the first thing to make sure of is that the ac adaptor cable is not having any partial contacts ofany kind whereby power gets into the laptop irregularly.this could have adverse effect on the circuitry.
it is not enough just checking the output of the ac adapter by a meter.try straighten the cable from the adapter and check the meter for voltage fluctuations.
if the above is okay then the problem could be on board leve.
