I have a Sony STRDE935, Yamaha YST-SW45 sub, KLH HT9930 for the center/front surrounds and KLH 911B for the rear surrounds. The surrounds are all rated at 8 ohms and up to 100W. Here's my problem - when I have the receiver on with the sub, I get a crackling/popping sound in the surrounds. This does not appear to be a bad reception problem. I can't reproduce the problem with audio from the TV, DVD, CD, or videotape. If anyone can help, I'd sure appreciate any advice.
Sounds like a lack of power going to the rear speakers. But I have to ask..if it won't do it with TV, DVD, CD, or VCR what does it do it with? If you're talking FM tuner, then turn off the surround speakers because FM signals are not encoded with surround sound.

Yes, just with the tuner. It doesn't matter if I'm using a surround field or just straight 2-channel stereo. It only happens with the subwoofer on. If I turn the sub off, the crackling/popping goes with it.
