Question about Mitsubishi WD-Y57 57" Projection HDTV

Open Question

My 1080P mitsubishi tv is saying I have blocked airflow. I have cleaned the light housing and made sure there is adequate air around tv. what is problem temp. sensor? It will turn off. If I put a fan to the airflow side then turn it on I have no problem.

Could be the fan. It will cool tv but could also be to much for tv to handle.
You can also try reseating the lamp. It may say ok but be wrong.
I have a Mitsubishi 5500 projection tv . have had the type of issue you have had and I have replaced a lamp as well.had to reseat the lamp three times before it worked without shutting down.
Hope this helps.

Says I need to fix airflow problem

It is telling you that the unit is overheating for a lack of air flowing over the globe. Check that the air slots are not blocked. the fan motor is working and any filters are clean and not blocked.

Make sure your air vents are clean but more than likely you should suspect the TV's Lamp Thermal Sensor

57" DLP Mitsubishi

It is possible that either the heat sensor or the protection circuitry has a problem. The protection circuits will always err on the side of caution. If the fan is good, I'd be looking for the sensor. Can you update this with the model number please? I can check for more details once I have that info.
Thanks,
Dan
