It depends on your dishwasher. Some don't have "panels " on the front. There are dishwashers that have a frame around the front face of the door. If you have one of those, you unscrew the 2 screws on the side of the door and one side of the frame will come off allowing you to take the panel out and replace it. If your front door is one solid piece that wraps around the sides, you will have a much more difficult, and expensive, trying to find the exact replacement. To help save you time and money, go to www.applianceart.com, they have many options that go over your existing panel, or panel replacements depending on the dishwasher you have. They even have stainless options as well

What seems to be like cotton wool has come out of the inside of the drum just above the door could you tell me how this was caused and if possible how i could fix it nicola

What you have is the front drum seal coming loose from the drum door housing or the drum depending on where it was attached.

Follow these directions to replace the belt, but only go as far as removing the front of the machine to get to the front door/drum seal.
Also I have sent a link to a website that shows the belt configuation if you need it.

http://www.applianceaid.com/images/belt-config.JPG

If you hear a loud bang while your dryer is working, and you notice that the
drum has stopped turning, chances are the drivebelt has snapped.
Fortunately, replacing the belt is a fairly straightforward operation that
can be handled with a few simple tools.
First, unplug the dryer. Lift the lint-screen cover and pull out the lint screen
If your dryer has a lint screen on the inside of the door, skip this step.
Then remove the two screws that are under the cover. To unlatch the dryer top,
insert a thin-blade putty knife between the top and front panel,
about 2 1/2 in. in from one corner. Push in on the knife to release the locking
clip, lift the corner, then release the clip on the other side. Swing the top
up and lean it against the wall.
Next, move to the lower toe panel. Slip the putty knife between the lower panel
and the door panel at one side and twist the knife to release the clip
Then release the opposite clip and lift the panel up and off the hinge springs.
To support the dryer drum while the belt is being replaced, place scrap wood
under the front of the drum.
Loosen the two screws at each side of the bottom of the front panel.
Move to the top of the panel and remove the screws from the inside of the
cabinet that hold the front panel to the sides.
Slide the old belt off the drum.
(The above will get you to the door/drum seal)

If you want to go farter and check your drum rollers and maybe oil them then continue following the directions below
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installing the belt
Lean the front panel out slightly and allow the drum to rest on the scrap wood
support. Drop the new dryer belt between the front panel and the drum, and
loop it over the drum. Then, lift the drum slightly while pushing the front
panel back into position.
Replace the screws at the top inside of the front panel, tighten the lower panel
screws and remove the scrap wood from under the drum. Check to make sure that
the rear drum seal fits properly over the lip on the rear bulkhead.
Position the new belt where the old belt was, with the grooved side of the belt
facing down.
Now, move to the motor area and pull out the old belt. To route the new belt
around the idler and drive pulley, first pass the entire belt, doubled up,
under the idler pulley. Then, push the idler belt toward the motor, slip the
belt around the motor pulley and release the tension on the idler pulley.
Open the dryer door and rotate the drum counterclockwise a few times to make
sure the belt is tracking properly. Lower the top and press down at each
corner to engage the clips. Lift the lint-screen cover, replace the two screws
and reinstall the lint screen. Finally, secure the lower front panel and turn
on the dryer for a test.

I close washer door but it wont go through cycle

Check to see if one of the two tabs on the door latch assembly are broken. If one is broken, replace the door latch. If the door latch is ok, you might have to replace the door switch and the door latch. To replace the door switch you have to remove the front panel. Remove the two screws holding the door switch assembly in place and drop the door switch assembly down into the bottom of the washer. Remove the wires and transfer to the new switch. Reach up and line up the new switch and install the two screws. Remove the two screws on the door latch assembly on the door, and remove old door latch. Install the new latch and replace the front panel. I hope this helps.

Water drips from under door. the water is

There is a ventilator mechanism on the top right corner, behind the control panel / front cover.

******TURN THE POWER OFF AT THE BREAKER BEFORE STARTING, BE SURE POWER IS OFF ******

Open the door; remove all of the screws that hold just the front panel (not the controls panel). These screws are located on the inside of the door, around the outer edges. The front door panel will be able to be removed. Close the door with the front panel removed.

***IMPORTANT be sure nobody will come in contact with the exposed wiring (especially little kids) *********

Turn back on the breaker, turn on the washer, and run a quick rinse cycle. See where the water is coming from.

On my washer (same model) i had to replace the entire vent kit (sears parts ~$40.00) Call them with your model and serial number, or search online. Removal and replacement was very easy, and it did fix my leaking problem. Checked with the front door panel off and a quick rinse before I TURNED POWER BACK OFF and put the front cover back on.

Root cause?? From what I can tell, the solenoid stopper hardens over time, which allows for water from the spray arms to leak past.

Get it fixed now before you smoke the motor or control card. My part number was ABT35083501 be sure to double check model before purchasing.

Good luck!

Replace belt on kenmore 500 series dryer approx 20 years old

that belt part number is 341241. Depending on the type of door the dryer has, is how you approach the access of these dryers. Mostly though you yank out the filter first.Remove the 2 screws in the filter housing on top. Then use a putty knife to pop the top. Remove the screws holding the front panel on. VERY IMPORTANT! Raise the front up an inch before pulling forward or the panel clips will break! Some models have a panel on bottom. If they do then this panel must come off first. Then you remove the door springs and back off the screws holding down the bottom of the door panel. Then pop the top and remove the screws on top to get the panel out of your way.Use the belt routing diagram found HERE.
