Question about Insignia D300a PC Desktop

Monitor gets no signal

I have an Insignia D300a Desktop comp. While using the comp. my monitor stopped working and flashes no signal on the screen, I switched the monitor with one I know is working and same thing, tried turning off comp. and restarting no luck. Could this be the video card? If so can I replace the video card with a non intergrated card even though the original is intergrated into the motherboard?

My PC is plugged into the wall, the VGA of my dell monitor, the monitor is on, and I start the computer. Lights and fans turn on in my PC, and the monitor is at the right channel. But the power button on the monitor turns orange meaning there is no signal. Please help!

Yes. it is almost positively the video card.
you can get a PCI video card and install that in an open slot.
if you don't need to play games, you don't need a fancy one, just a basic card.

Monitor problem

The power light is flashing green can indicate start/restart of the power supply due to shorts circuits or failing power supply due to bad caps, look for bad caps with bulging top first, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Black screen only shows after initializing the words " error loading OS "

do a hard drive test or take it to local repair shop and get them to test it. I am about 98% sure it a bad hard drive, or you OS got deleted.

Replaced the hard drive, if its bad.

please rate my solution.

Monitor Showing to much red

Hi,
Is it possible that your PC or Monitor is just showing more red tones? Have you checked a WHITE background like a blank webpage? Does it have a red tint too?
Do you possibly have speakers or an external fan near your computer or your monitor? If so they sometimes have magnets that will interfere with your screen.
Another thing you might want to check is to unplug the monitor cable that attaches to the computer and check and see if any of the PINS in the plug are bent.
Please let me know how this works out for you.
Thanks,
Kaj

Restore

The fact that you don't see the insignia splash screen tells me it's not looking good for your computer.

- Have you tried another working monitor with your computer? It could be your monitor died.

- Where is your monitor plugged in on your computer? To the mainboard or a graphics card? It could by your onboard graphics or graphics card has died. Try switching, if possible.

- Have you tried reseting your BIOS? You'll need to open your computer case and look for 3 small metal pins with a connector connecting to two of those pins (it should be on the lower-right hand of the motherboard when you open your case). However, depending on your computer ability, I would generally hold this off.

Unfortunately, without actually being there and without the proper equipment, there's not much I can do. If none of the above helps, then you'll need to open your computer case, and do some equipment checks, however this is only for people who have built computers before and know what they're doing. If you can get a friend thats knowledgeable in building computers to take a look at your computer, then definitely go that route.

All I can do is direct you to the product specifications of your motherboard (the D400a has a D845GVSR motherboard)

http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/D845GVSR/

Click "Manual" under System resources and download your language version of choice. Good luck.

Green light blinking screen blank

Hi Suzee,

Is the green flashing on the tower or the monitor?

If it is flashing on the monitor, then it might be tht the monitor is not gettign signal from the tower.
To check, disconnect the monitor from the tower and check the monitor. If you get a msg on the screen like no input signal or check video cable, then 99% monitor is fine.

Check for the power supply light at the back of the tower.

Disconnect everything from the computer and then press and hold the power button on the comp for about 30 seconds.

Then connect the cables and check if it is working.
